Fox Releases Incredible Full-Length Trailer For Gotham Series Finale

In a couple of days, Gotham will have concluded its run and secured its place in the annals of comic book TV history. It's sad to think about, sure, but on the plus side, this does free up more characters to be utilized on The CW's upcoming Batwoman series, not to mention DC Universe's Titans.

Already, the network has done its job by releasing two promos for the highly anticipated finale, one following last week’s episode, with the other dropping online not long thereafter. Still, I suspected that a full-length trailer was waiting in the wings, similar to those accompanying several key episodes throughout season 5.

Well, my suspicions have been proven correct, as the latest video package can be found at the top of this article. As you can see, it features footage from throughout the series in order to signify how everything has come full circle, but most of what’s presented is, in fact, taken from the finale itself.

From what I can tell, Frank Miller’s Batman: Year One lends a decent amount of influence, as Bruce Wayne has now adopted his vigilante persona and is taking to the streets. Obviously, it won’t be long before the likes of Penguin and Riddler feel his wrath.

Something else worth pointing out is Jeremiah Valeska’s line saying, “I was waiting for him to come home.” Those of you who follow this site on a regular basis are probably aware of how I believe Batman’s emergence will lead to Jeremiah snapping out of his catatonic state in a nod to The Dark Knight Returns, but that bit of dialogue makes me wonder if indeed he immediately figures out that Bruce Wayne and Batman are the same person. It wouldn’t be unheard of because the Joker knows the truth in some versions of the tale.
