The end is near for Westerosi folk.

After seven seasons of fantasy-fuelled spectacle and more “what the fuck?!” moments than we can even keep track of, HBO’s Game of Thrones is now about to head into its final run. April 14th is the date for your diaries – in case you’ve been living under a rock for the past little while – as that’s when the network will unleash the Night King (essentially death incarnate) upon the Seven Kingdoms.

It’s the fateful battle between fire and ice – between the living and the dead – that has Thrones fans giddy with anticipation to see what HBO has in store for them, and while expectations are currently through the roof (and understandably so), programming chief Casey Bloys has assured us many times already that season 8 will deliver the goods and then some. And if this latest trailer is any indication of what’s to come, then he just might be correct.

Seen up above, the latest – and greatest – preview for season 8 is a pretty meaty one that offers up all kinds of tantalizing teases and promises that the much loved fantasy series will go out on a high. But the question still remains: who will live and who will die? As Bloys says, that speculation will probably continue for the next little while.

“As with all things Game of Thrones, there is a lot of speculation. All I can tell you as part of this season, is it is all spectacular.”

Game of Thrones season 8 will be with us next month and yes, as much as it pains us to say it, this really is it; the beginning of the end, folks. Will you be watching when it takes its final bow, though? Be sure to let us know by dropping a comment in the usual place down below.
