Get Your First Fleeting Peek At Game Of Thrones Season 7

HBO's "Coming in 2017" sizzle reel brought forth our first fleeting peek at Game of Thrones season 7, as relayed by Watchers on the Wall.

Now barrelling down on its season finale, Westworld is very much the HBO series garnering the most buzz – and deservedly so – as budding fans hunker down for Sunday’s 90-minute finale. A second season is already in the cards for Lisa Joy and Jonathan Nolan’s sprawling epic, but if 2017 belongs to one HBO show, it’s Game of Thrones.

Currently deep in production ahead of its penultimate season on the airwaves, we now have our first fleeting glimpse of season 7 – and the extended Stark family in particular – thanks to Watchers on the Wall. Pulling screencaps from HBO’s “Coming in 2017” promo that aired alongside last night’s episode of Westworld, the three images spotlight Sansa Stark (Sophie Turner), Jon Snow (Kit Harington) and Arya Stark (Maisie Williams) riding horseback.

Though it’s difficult to wean much from these sombre stills, it does appear that Jon is having a rather serious conversation with Sansa, while Arya’s quizzical expression leads us to believe that the young Stark had laid eyes on a long-lost ally – Sansa, potentially? Or Winterfell? Who knows.

If that does prove true, a reunion between the Stark sisters won’t be the only landmark meeting of Game of Thrones season 7, given earlier set photos spoiled the moment when Jon Snow and Daenerys Targaryen cross paths. Yes, it looks as though Westeros’ leading power players are finally beginning to come together, for better or worse.

Game of Thrones will return for a truncated seventh season mid-way through 2017, and though it may only run for seven episodes in total, leaked photos indicate that HBO’s fantasy flagship hasn’t lost its appetite for show-stopping battle scenes.
