It was recently revealed that Gorilla Grodd will return in season two of The Flash, and now the official synopsis for the seventh episode has confirmed that the CGI villain is indeed coming back to Central City to once again clash with the Scarlet Speedster. To be honest, it's a little surprising that The CW series is bringing him back so soon, especially after that awesome (and expensive) King Shark cameo!

It was recently revealed that Gorilla Grodd will return in season two of The Flash, and now the official synopsis for the seventh episode has confirmed that the CGI villain is indeed coming back to Central City to once again clash with the Scarlet Speedster.

To be honest, it’s a little surprising that The CW series is bringing him back so soon, especially after that awesome (and expensive) King Shark cameo. Regardless, this is very good news for fans of The Flash, as the show has so far done a great job of handling the psychic gorilla.

Here’s the official synopsis, courtesy of the network:

Grodd returns to Central City and kidnaps Caitlin (Danielle Panabaker). Barry (Grant Gustin) and team race to find her before it’s too late.Meanwhile, Cisco (Carlos Valdes) plans his first date with the new barista at Jitters, Kendra Saunders (guest star Ciara Renée) and Patty (guest star Shantel VanSanten) begins to suspect Barry is hiding something from her. Dermott Downs directed the episode written by Aaron Helbing &Todd Helbing.

While the fact that he’s brought to life through special effects complicates things somewhat, many are hoping that Grodd is going to be the big bad of season three of The Flash. Whether or not “Gorilla Warfare” is going to help set the stage for that remains to be seen, especially as the focus is clearly going to be on the relationship between the villain and Caitlin.

There are also a couple of other very intriguing hints about what’s to come in The Flash in the above synopsis, including the fact that Cisco will be dating the future Hawkgirl, which should be pretty interesting. All in all, “Gorilla Warfare” sounds like another great episode and one that we’ll surely be tuning into.
