First Look Images From Supergirl Season 1, Episode 11 Released

The reveal that David Harewood is actually playing Martian Manhunter in Supergirl has to be one of the coolest surprises in a comic book TV show in a very long time, and the eleventh episode of the CBS drama will put the spotlight squarely on the character. There's no sign of him in that guise in the gallery above, but it's obvious that he'll be taking centre stage here thanks to the arrival of one of his greatest foes.

The reveal that David Harewood is actually playing Martian Manhunter in Supergirl has to be one of the coolest surprises in a comic book TV show in a very long time, and the eleventh episode of the CBS drama will put the spotlight squarely on the character. There’s no sign of him in that guise in the gallery above, but it’s obvious that he’ll be taking centre stage here thanks to the arrival of one of his greatest foes.

Here’s the official synopsis for the episode, which is titled “Strange Visitor From Another Planet”:

Kara must help Hank (David Harewood, right) face his painful past when a White Martian, a member of the alien race that wiped out his people, kidnaps Senator Miranda Crane, an anti-alien politician, on SUPERGIRL, Monday, Jan. 25 (8:00-9:00 PM, ET/PT) on the CBS Television Network.

Martian Manhunter versus a White Martian? That’s going to be epic, and seeing more of the former will be very cool. Supergirl has been a little hit and miss in places, but it’s doing a lot of great stuff and rapidly improving (Melissa Benoist’s performance in particular has been a highlight). This instalment promises to be one of the better ones anyway, and we’ll bring you more details on the episode as they become available, so stay tuned.
