The Walking Dead may have lost one of its own in Rick Grimes, but the show must go on, as the old saying goes.

AMC’s undead flagship returns this Sunday with the premiere of “Stradivarius,” the penultimate installment before next week’s midseason finale. It’s a pivotal moment for season 9, then, though Norman Reedus (Daryl Dixon) is already beginning to tease what’s in store for season 9B.

Over on Instagram, the Walking Dead mainstay posted a very brief video of him goofing around with a bunch of impassioned fans, though it was really the caption that triggered a big reaction on social media. Reedus has never been one to mince his words, and sure enough, The Walking Dead stalwart informed his followers that the second half of season 9 is, and we quote, “fucking great.”

But don’t just take our word for it…

Last day of filming. This second half is f—ing great. Thank you everyone that supports this insane asylum!

On a more general note, The Walking Dead executive producer Greg Nicotero teased something similar, after he told ComicBook.com’s After the Dead chat show that there’s still a “great story” lined up for the remainder of The Walking Dead season 9, despite the show losing a character of Rick’s stature so suddenly.

Here’s what he had to say:

I mean, there’s so much great story coming up and you know I’ve done a lot of press and talked about Samantha Morton and The Whisperers, and we’ve been teasing a lot of that in this last promo. It really just feels like a different show and in a good way, not in a way where we feel like there’s a void that we have to fill.

Season 9 of The Walking Dead marches on with the premiere of “Stradivarius” this Sunday, November 18th, and we’ll be bringing you all the latest as we approach next week’s midseason finale.
