The Walking Dead Season 7 Will Take The Survivors To An Unexpected Location

The Walking Dead has taken us to some very unique locations over the years, but for the most part, the AMC series has stuck to the lush green landscape of Georgia. However, it has now been revealed that Stalwart Films (one of the production companies behind the shows) have been granted permission for it to shoot along the beach at Jekyll Island in Georgia.

Apparently, the scene is going to involve part of a human corpse half buried in a tidal pool. None of the actors involved with it have been revealed though, so we obviously have no idea how big a sequence this is going to be. With the events of The Walking Dead currently taking place in Alexandria, Virginia, however, chances are that Jekyll Island is doubling for an Atlantic Ocean beach or Virginia Lake.

Fear The Walking Dead has already taken viewers to the beach for some pretty gory sequences, so it’s interesting that the main series is now following suit. Looking at the comic books, there really weren’t any moments that were remotely similar to this; the most we’ve seen of the water is Michonne going out to sea to catch fish, but that’s something which happens quite a long way down the line.

For now, we’ll just have to wait and see what this all means. What we do know, is that following the release of that awesome SDCC trailer, The Walking Dead returns on October 23rd – and we can’t wait to see what the showrunners have in store for us.
