New Deathstroke Vs. Batman Series Expected To Arrive This Spring

Now that we know director Matt Reeves is knee-deep in formulating the story for The Batman, moviegoers and pundits alike can’t help but speculate which villains he’ll utilize. Will he retain Joe Manganiello’s Deathstroke, whom we know to be a product of Ben Affleck and Geoff Johns’ canned screenplay? Or will he play it safe by incorporating fan favorite baddies like the Joker and Harley Quinn?

Regardless of whatever eventually ends up on the silver screen, comic book fans are apparently in for one hell of a treat in the immediate future. We say that because, according to Bleeding Cool, one of the bloodiest rematches that the DC Universe could ever possibly hope to produce will soon be arriving in the form of Deathstroke Vs. Batman.

Right now, plot details remain scarce, but the reliable industry sleuths have managed to unearth knowledge that the new series will be penned by visionary writer Christopher Priest. What’s more is that he’s bringing a buddy from the flagship Deathstroke title along with him, that being artist Carlo Pagulayan. And if that weren’t enough, Lee Weeks will be providing covers.

As of now, all we have to go on is some promo art (seen above), but it’s enough to get us excited at this point. To date, Priest has bedazzled readers with outside-the-box thinking, charting new course for both Deathstroke and Justice League. That said, odds are he’s got few aces up his sleeve when it comes to this baby.

Deathstroke Vs. Batman is expected to launch sometime in April. As always, we’ll keep you posted as more details come in.
