If anything, it proves that no man or creature should mess with Geralt of Rivia, the series’ grizzled, grey-haired protagonist who returns in this conclusive chapter, and there’s even a snippet of Ciri – Wild Hunt’s second playable protagonist – thrown in for good measure. Traversing across CD Projekt Red will have players journey betwixt the Northern Kingdoms and the foreboding Skellige Islands, and screenshots that surfaced late last week showcased the kind of gameplay we can expect when Wild Hunt makes its long-awaited debut in a couple of weeks’ time.

The Witcher III: Wild Hunt is much more than just a visual showcase of what the eighth generation consoles can do, though. With a voice cast that includes Game of Thrones‘ indelible Charles Dance, Geralt’s latest outing will have him go up against the titular army, who have torn through the Northern Kingdoms leaving only death and destruction in its wake.

According to CD Projekt Red, Wild Hunt will also be a personal mission for our mystical lead, with many old faces from Geralt’s past appearing throughout the course of the story for better or worse.

After a long and anxious wait, The Witcher III: Wild Hunt will bring the curtain down on Geralt’s saga when it launches across PlayStation 4, Xbox One and PC on May 19.
