NBA Jam Coming As A Stand-Alone Game November 17th

The classic arcade reboot is now listed on the Gamestop website at $49.99 for both the Xbox 360 and PS3 and is set to release on November 17th. It was originally planned as a free pack-in with NBA Elite 11 for HD console owners (it already released on the Wii on October 5th). But the plan was thrown a wrench when EA announced late last September that NBA Elite 11 would be delayed until 2011.

UPDATE: EA has now officially confirmed the release date as November 17th, not the 16th. All dates in this article have been updated.

The stand-alone HD version will include the initially Wii exclusive Remix Tour mode as well as an online component, which the Wii version lacks.

Now I realize that $49.99 is the same price as the Wii counterpart and is the definitive version since it has online support and HD graphics but I can’t help but feel a little ripped off considering the $59.99 price tag would have previously gotten you both NBA Elite 11 and NBA Jam. Nevertheless, it’s a good time to be a gamer if you love retro games (and really, who doesn’t?). Boom-shacka-laka!
