Luckless Henry Cavill shares new image from his first movie since losing the two biggest roles of his career

And it's not even getting a worldwide theatrical release.

Things haven’t been going too well for Henry Cavill recently, but based on a track record of near-misses and what ifs that have seen him cultivate a reputation for being one of the unluckiest actors in the business, he’s probably used to it by now.

In the last year alone, the star has ended up either abandoning or being booted out of the two biggest roles of his career so far, which is unfortunate to say the least. Although it remains confined entirely to the realm of rumor and speculation, there’s a lot of folks out there who believe Cavill dropped out of The Witcher to focus on his “full-time” return as Superman.

Needless to say, the response to Liam Hemsworth stepping in as Geralt of Rivia highlights the dismay among the fandom, while James Gunn has been coming under constant fire since assuming the role of DC Studios co-CEO, where one of his first orders of business was to render the Black Adam post-credits scene obsolete by waving goodbye to both Cavill and Dwayne Johnson.

Meanwhile, his Apple TV espionage thriller Argylle has ended up being completely forgotten about, and incoming Guy Ritchie collaboration The Ministry of Ungentlemanly Warfare isn’t even getting a full-scale theatrical release after Prime Video swooped in to take the international distribution rights.

Speaking of which, Cavill has shared a new behind the scenes image from the World War II action epic alongside its writer and director, where they both look exceedingly happy to be in each other’s company.

With the Highlander reboot no closer to finally escaping development hell, either, Cavill could do with a smash hit sooner rather than later before Amazon’s Warhammer universe begins to take shape, but in terms of box office at least, The Ministry of Ungentlemanly Warfare isn’t going to be it.
