‘Jujutsu Kaisen’ star teases season 2’s enhancement of the source material

The good news is out.

If you’re thinking of approaching a diehard anime fan to recommend some of the best series that would mark your memorable entry into the world of anime, then be prepared to hear the name Jujutsu Kaisen.

The series revolves around high school student Yuji Itadori who, after swallowing a finger (which belongs to the powerful curse, Ryomen Sukuna), becomes cursed and sentenced to exorcism by the Jujutsu sorcerers. Curses which, in the series, manifest and personify as the devil are the products of negative energy and emotions whose extraction and exorcism are conducted by the sorcerers of Jujutsu tech school.

Needless to say, the first season created a phenomenal impression among its fans and ever since its ending, they have been eager to get a grasp on updates regarding the second season. Until now, not much light has been shed on any information related to the second outing.

The show is going to make a big comeback in the summer of 2023, with voice actor Yuichi Nakamura revealing in an interview that the new season would indeed be a promising one and adopt more content from its original Manga source.

“The recording has already started and I always check the scenes comparing it to the manga. This time the amount of content has increased compared to the manga. I’ll be glad if the fans of the manga can enjoy the enhanced direction in the anime. Not only the battles, but other parts of the episodes will be Flashy. Please be excited and hold on until July.”

Now that the release of season two in 2023 is confirmed, we have been informed about a few developments which include the replacement of Sunghoo Park with Shota Goshozono as the director and the recent controversial voice actor, Takahiro Sakurai retaining his position as the voice for Geto.

Overall, details about the plot remain scarce, except that the first half of the season will revolve around the formative years of Gojo. This will add an interesting flavor to the show, considering the significant role played by the character in the previous season.

Viewers are particularly interested to know how his storyline will unfold, especially following his permanent exile from the Jujutsu society. With season two’s release being confirmed and the rising excitement surrounding it, audiences have just a little longer to wait, until the saga continues.
