Dolores Will Be Evolved In Westworld Season 2

During season 1 of HBO's Westworld, we were introduced to a whole bunch of fascinating characters. In fact, almost everyone on the show was given a deeply layered and fleshed out arc, making for some of the most exciting television we've seen in some time. That being said, of all the colorful characters on the network's hit sci-fi series, perhaps none was more interesting to follow than Evan Rachel Wood's Dolores.

During season 1 of HBO’s Westworld, we were introduced to a whole bunch of fascinating characters. In fact, almost everyone on the show was given a deeply layered and fleshed out arc, making for some of the most exciting television we’ve seen in some time. That being said, of all the colorful characters on the network’s hit sci-fi series, perhaps none was more interesting to follow than Evan Rachel Wood’s Dolores.

Throughout the season, she turned out to be much more than what she looked like on the surface and it’s perhaps a testament to the actress’ brilliant performance that each of the shocking twists and turns that involved her hit us like a ton of bricks. So, it’s no surprise then that viewers are eager to pick back up with Dolores when the show returns in 2018, and while we don’t know what exactly she’ll be up to just yet, Wood has now offered up a bit of a tease.

While speaking with Entertainment Weekly, she noted that in season 2, we’ll get to see more of an “unleashed” version of the character, noting that Dolores will also be “evolved.”

“I’m really curious to see the unleashed version of her that we caught a glimpse of at the very end of the finale,” said the actress. “Those final seconds, I think we were seeing a completely different side to her, completely different programming and completely off of her leash, so I don’t think she will be the same person; she’ll be an evolved version.”

Of course, given that Dolores went a bit off the edge at the end of season 1 and became self-aware, it was always assumed that we’d be seeing a new and more violent side to her when Westworld returned. Still, it’s nice to hear confirmation that she’ll be vastly different when she shows up next, as the transition from sweet, innocent victim to what the character is now has been fascinating to watch.

Unfortunately, there’s still quite a while to go before HBO airs season 2 of Westworld, and with the explosive season finale leaving so much up in the air, the wait is becoming a bit unbearable. Still, from all the teases we’ve been getting from the cast and crew, it sounds like they’ve got something pretty special in store for us and as of now, we’ve no reason to think that the show’s next outing won’t be every bit as enjoyable as what came before.
