To briefly recap, the mega event will introduce Ruby Rose as Batwoman, Grant Gustin and Stephen Amell trade places as the Flash and Green Arrow, Tyler Hoechlin dons a black Superman costume, and all signs point toward Doctor Destiny being the main villain. Sounds pretty awesome, doesn’t it?

Well, if what we’re here to discuss today reaches its logical conclusion, then expect for the annual superhero mashup to achieve new heights of greatness because – get this – none other than Supernatural‘s own Jensen Ackles has been pictured on set. Thanks to an image shared by Sean Koo on Instagram, we can confirm that the man known for bringing Dean Winchester to life each Thursday night was there in some capacity.

Now, it’s entirely possible that Ackles was merely visiting friends because, don’t forget, all of these series film in Vancouver, but I can’t help remembering Stephen Amell teasing a mystery cast member for the crossover in a recent social media post of his. If you’ll recall, a chair bearing no name was seen alongside those designated for Amell, Grant Gustin, Melissa Benoist and others.

Call me crazy, but it’s also hard to ignore how Ackles was pictured next to a Red Hood costume not long ago. Granted, this is no guarantee of him playing a character in live action whom he already voiced in the animated movie Batman: Under The Red Hood, but it’s fun to ponder the possibility. And if Jensen were to show up as Jason Todd – or any other DC character, for that matter – during “Elseworlds,” then we imagine pretty much everybody will go nuts.

Either way, we’ll find out soon enough, as this fall’s Arrowverse crossover begins on Sunday, December 9 with The Flash, continues on Monday, December 10 with Arrow, and wraps up on Tuesday, December 11 with Supergirl.
