First Star Wars: Episode IX Trailer Will Reportedly Be Attached To Avengers: Endgame

With principal photography for Star Wars: Episode IX wrapping last Friday, fans are getting their hopes up all over again that a teaser or title reveal could be just around the corner. What most of the internet seems to agree on, however, is that Lucasfilm is unlikely to release a full trailer until April, most likely during Star Wars Celebration, which is held from the 11th to the 15th.

Sure enough, Star Wars News Net now claims to have heard it from a “very credible source” who’s proven reliable in the past that April is indeed the month when the trailer is scheduled to arrive. In fact, it’s said that the preview will also be attached to that other huge 2019 Disney blockbuster, Avengers: Endgame, which comes out on the 26th. Though the source stopped short of saying when exactly the trailer will premiere, the author of the report regards it as highly likely that Star Wars Celebration will be the occasion for it.

While the report has yet to be confirmed, none of these claims come across as remotely surprising. For one thing, it’s practically a tradition for Lucasfilm to show its first full trailer for each new episode at the annual Celebration, and once that footage drops, it only figures that Disney would attach it to the massive blockbuster that comes out a couple of weeks later.

Of course, that doesn’t rule out a shorter teaser coming our way in the meantime, and we’re still left with the question of when Episode IX might have its long-awaited title reveal. In the case of the latter, the SWNN author speculates that Disney will want to unveil the subtitle before Celebration so that they can sell merchandise in advance of the trailer drop. The prediction sounds plausible enough, but regardless of what the coming months bring, you can expect Star Wars: Episode IX to save its biggest secrets for when the film hits theaters on December 20th, 2019.
