The Lost Boys TV Show Has Cast Its Frog Sisters

I've always thought Joel Schumacher's 1987 teen vampire horror The Lost Boys is an under-rated gem. Sure, most of that is due to a hugely charismatic young Kiefer Sutherland as the lead vampire, but that's a casting that goes an awfully long way. It seems like someone at The CW is as big a fan as I am, because they're currently putting together the cast for a pilot that should herald a fully-fledged The Lost Boys show. Now Deadline is reporting that Flesh and Bone's Sarah Hay, Camping's Cheyanne Haynes and Bella and the Bulldogs' Haley Tju are joining the project.

Sure, most of its awesomeness is down to a hugely charismatic young Kiefer Sutherland as the lead vampire, but that’s a casting that goes a seriously long way. Already, we’ve heard of some exciting additions to the project and today, Deadline’s reporting that Flesh and Bone‘s Sarah Hay, Camping‘s Cheyanne Haynes and Bella and the Bulldogs’ Haley Tju are joining the roster, which so far includes former Teen Wolf star Tyler Posey and Kingdom alum Kiele Sanchez, with Medalion Rahimi (Still Star-Crossed) and Dakota Shapiro (Valley of the Boom) also having key roles. And, if you’re into the whole teen vampire thing, you’ll be pleased to hear that Twilight director Catherine Hardwicke is shooting the pilot.

From what we understand, the show will retain the seaside setting of the 1987 movie and also keep some of the broad plot strokes. We’ll follow two brothers, Michael and Sam Emerson, who’ve had to move to their mother’s home town after their father suddenly dies. They’re hoping to begin a new life in this town, but if the nocturnal residents get their way, that new life could prove to be an immortal one.

The Lost Boys

As for the new additions, Sarah Hay’s set to play lead vampire Mollie, while Haynes and Tju are cast as the Frog Sisters, teenage vampire hunters who work at a comic book store and secretly do battle against the forces of darkness.

It’s honestly difficult to imagine this being anything other than a huge success. With Twilight fans still undergoing withdrawal symptoms and the devilish delights of Chilling Adventures of Sabrina being a big hit for Netflix, you’d be a sucker to bet against The Lost Boys TV show. It sounds like The CW are going full steam ahead with the pilot, too, so expect more details very soon.
