WB May Be Developing A Wonder Girl Titans Spinoff

Despite rumors about DC Universe's future following the cancellation of Swamp Thing, Titans is cruising ahead into its second season, with the darker take on the Teen Titans turning out to be a real winner for Warner Bros. Television. They've already created one spinoff based on it, in the form of the equally-popular Doom Patrol, and from what we're hearing there could be more on the horizon.

Despite rumors questioning DC Universe’s future following the cancellation of Swamp Thing, Titans is cruising ahead into its second season, with the darker take on the Teen Titans turning out to be a real winner for Warner Bros. We Got This Covered has been informed by our sources – the same ones who told us Black Adam will feature in Shazam 3!, which Zachary Levi later confirmed – that the studio is considering spinoffs for a couple of Titans characters, one of them being Wonder Girl. This is not something they’re officially working on just yet but we’re told that they’re thinking about it. It’s likely that they’re waiting to see how well season 2 goes down before moving forward with expanding the franchise any further.

Conor Leslie joined the cast of Titans as Donna Troy in season 1’s eighth episode, ironically titled “Donna Troy.” Like most of the show’s cast, this was the first time this underrated sidekick had been brought to live-action, so fans quickly took to her and Leslie’s portrayal. She’s set to have a bigger role in the series’ sophomore run as well, with the heroine getting a version of her classic costume to boot.

Honestly, Titans season 2 looks to be one massive fan-pleasing dream, as it’ll introduce so many awesome elements from the DC universe to, er, DC Universe. Superboy, Ravager and Aqualad will be joining the team’s line-up, Deathstroke will serve as the main villain and even Batman himself is turning up, in the form of Game of Thrones‘ Iain Glen. Rumors point to Lex Luthor and Superman coming as well, which really doesn’t sound out of the question.

If there’s any justice (league), then, Titans season 2 should be a big hit, which means WB may greenlight this Wonder Girl spinoff, and the Hawk and Dove show they’re also considering. Would you watch either of these series, though? And are there any other characters you think deserve their own vehicle? Let us know your thoughts in the usual place below.
