Marc Webb's The Amazing Spider-Man 2 doesn't hit theaters until next May, but Sony is showing confidence in The Amazing Spider-Man franchise by setting a release date for not only The Amazing Spider-Man 3, but The Amazing Spider-Man 4 as well.
Man Of Steel is on pace to be one of the year's highest grossing films after a record-breaking opening weekend in which the film raked in over $125 million.
It's been reported that the Man Of Steel sequel is being fast-tracked by Warner Bros., but it turns out Warner has a new definition of fast-tracked, and it coincides with the speed that their most recent cinematic hero flies.
With the success of the Marvel cinematic universe over at Disney, it seems almost certain that Warner Bros. will have to build a cinematic universe around their DC properties. It'd be foolish not to, especially with how passionately fans want to see a multi-character universe. While Christopher Nolan shied away from alluding to character's outside of Batman lore, Zack Snyder did not share that philosophy when it came to Man Of Steel. Thankfully, he didn't sink to the level of a blatant post-credit scene to reveal future plans, but rather provided a series of smart clues for fans to dissect.
Despite all the adamant insistence by both Christian Bale and Christopher Nolan that neither of them will be back for Justice League, there are still some out there who want to keep believing that Bale will again don the cape and cowl for DC's ensemble film. In a recent interview, David Goyer continued his discussion about the future of Warner's DC properties and further confirmed that the next Bruce Wayne we see will be a different one than we saw in The Dark Knight Trilogy.
Arguments – they’re part of life. We’re all competitive beasts, never wanting to admit fault or defeat, and will go to great lengths when defending our honor when challenged or threatened. Arguments have started wars, shattered relationships, broken families, declared victors, but have also awarded respect. A win will always be a win, but longstanding respect and admitted defeat are far greater trophies than another tally mark on a record sheet somewhere. That’s where our story begins for this group of alcohol swigging, loud mouthed master-debaters (had to make that joke once, c’mon!), connected by our love of whiskey, which is only overpowered by our love for all things pop culture – cinema, music, television, gaming, you name it. Inebriation and verbal assaulting, how could this go wrong?!
Neill Blomkamp, the director of the science fiction event of 2013, Elysium, made his name in sci-fi with District 9. That excellent film provided a gritty, memorable story, and solidified Blomkamp's place as an expert of the genre. Because of this, many wanted him to have a shot at Star Wars: Episode VII, or at least one of the new Disney Star Wards films. In a recent interview with IGN, Blomkamp stated why he isn't interested in Star Wars, and gave a bit of insight into another much anticipated project.
The saga of a Man Of Steel sequel is getting as interesting as Superman's story itself. First it's on, then it's off, then Batman shows up, then it's off again, and then, once we thought we had confirmation that David Goyer and Zack Snyder were for sure signed on for the film, Goyer claims the movie isn't happening unless Man Of Steel performs up to expectations in terms of box office figures.
Nicolas Winding Refn's Only God Forgives hits theaters this July, but after that his next project is still up in the air. There's been talk of a Logan's Run remake, but nothing concrete has been announced in terms of a timetable, so who knows when that'll happen. But the director may have found his next project in an adaptation of the sci-fi comic series The Incal.
