Have you ever wondered what happened to Frank West after the incidents at Willamette Mall in the original Dead Rising game? Or, did you just take it for granted that he took a trip around the world to cover the things that photo journalists rush to snap?
One of the things that Borderlands is best known for is its badass weapons. To say that there was a plethora of them would actually be an understatement, considering how many options were available for pick-up through the use of the random weapon generator. According to the latest issue of Game Informer, Borderlands 2 will feature a revamped system. Guns will now feature their own style and personalities, with the magazine's official site lending some more information towards the cause.
Gotham City is always portrayed as being so gloomy and on-edge. In the infamous words of everyone's green-haired clown, The Joker, "Why so serious?" Trying to have some fun in Batman's gothic universe, Monolith Games are trying something absolutely fresh and downright different with Gotham City Impostors - a downloadable title set for release in 2012. As we've previously reported, this one is all about those who dream to be superheroes - or supervillains - taking to the streets for an all-out battle, using different types of weapons such as guns and traps. It's one crazy idea set in a world we'd never think of this type of game belonging in. Though, from what we've seen thus far, the inherent creativity within the idea does fit into the Caped Crusader's world.
We all have a part of Evil Knievel inside of us, even if we won't admit it. Living a safe live all the time gets boring even for those who say they enjoy it. Sometimes, you have to live on the edge. When it was released on PSN last year, Hello Games' daredevil video game, Joe Danger, was quite a hit. It mixed the fun of performing death-defying motorcycle stunts with the fun of collecting items and setting high scores. With arcade gameplay and creative physics systems, it allowed us to live on the wild side, even if it was in a digital space. You have to crawl before you walk though, right?
What is it with post-apocalyptic worlds and their dimly lit sewers, filled with potential danger? During an interview with Eurogamer, id Software creative director, Tim Willits, mentioned that sewers spread around the game world in RAGE, will be opened up for those who purchase the game new. It's a special option that consumers who buy the game used will have to pay extra for. It's strange considering sewers usually aren't very popular inclusions in video games.
Even fashionistas will want Metal Gear Solid 3D: Snake Eater now. By taking some shopping bags and snapping a couple pictures with the 3Ds' camera, Hideo Kojima has piqued our interest even more for this extra-dimensional remake of one of Konami's most popular titles. He posted pictures on Twitter, showing how the colourful shopping bags were able to be transformed into uniquely creative camouflage for the game's stealthy hero.
Unfortunately, PlayStation 3 owners will have to wait another seven days to enter the surreal world of Child of Eden. It's been announced that the game's release date has been delayed from September 20 to September 27, which is the best possibly type of delay one could ask for: a short one. However, considering that this version already received a relatively substantial delay, it might be more disappointing than normal.
NIS America has officially announced its intentions to release ClaDun x2 for us North American gamers' pleasure. The Japanese role-playing game will hit our stores digitally on August 30, via the PlayStation Network. It is playable on Sony's PSP. The first installment in the series, ClaDun: This is an RPG! did extremely well and was a hit with both critics and the public. In order to make this game an even better experience, Nippon Ichi Software have added in even more content and replay value.
Bethesda Softworks and id Software have partnered together to release the final two installments of their six-part RAGE developer diary video series. It's been a very informative, interesting and especially visceral ride thus far, and that continues to the end. If you plan to watch them, make sure you try to contain the drool.
Those who like to be more physical when it comes to choosing their character's class in role-playing games may be a bit out of their element when it comes to Fable: The Journey. That's because there apparently will not be any melee weapons for use in close combat action, as the team chose to focus on creating a robust magic system instead. Your arsenal is limited to only magical attacks. During a recent interview with OXM, Peter Molyneux talked about why this decision was made.
