Much has been said and pondered about the next installment in the Assassin's Creed series. With the confirmation of a new sequel titled Assassin's Creed: Revelations, that will hit stores this November, many are wondering who the main character will be and why.

The answer is the Call of Duty: Black Ops' Escalation Map Pack - the second downloadable pack released for the incredibly popular first-person shooter. Instead of trying to create just another map pack, developer Treyarch went out of their way to make this pack something unique and fresh. What came out of that brainstorming was an incredibly intelligent idea for a new Zombies mode, entitled Call of the Dead, which complements the four traditional maps included in this one gigabyte download. This pack has something for just about everyone, including die-hard Call of Duty addicts and horror movie aficionados. If your trigger finger is itching for more action and you're not afraid of things that go bump in the night with appetites to satisfy, then this one is for you.
It seems like Commander Shepard's next voyage has been delayed for a brief period of time. Developer Bioware made the official delay announcement today, stating that Mass Effect 3 will see a short delay, with a new release date sometime during the "first three months of 2012." Executive producer, Casey Hudson, posted a message for the series' fans on its official message board. He stated that "The development team is laser focused on making sure Mass Effect 3 is the biggest, boldest and best game in the series, ensuring that it exceeds everyone's expectations." He also posted a new team photo showing Shepard and his crew.
In Vancouver today, Nintendo officially announced that they are dropping the price of their incredibly popular Wii console to $149.99. Starting May 15, the console will be available in separate black or white packages, containing Mario Kart Wii and a matching Wii Wheel, instead of Wii Sports. Also included are a matching Wii Remote Plus controller with its necessary nunchuk add-on. The new black Wii Wheel will also be available separately for $9.99.
During a conference call with the company's investors this evening, THQ CEO Brian Farrel confirmed the title of the in-development sequel to last year's sleeper-hit FPS, Metro 2033. He confirmed that the rumored title of Metro: Last Light is in fact the title of the upcoming game. Though no other information was released other than the fact that it will receive a 'first-class marketing campaign,' according to THQ core games CEO Danny Bilson - a quote from earlier this year.
The much anticipated demo for Red Faction: Armageddon is now available for download on XBOX Live Arcade. Those who've been looking forward to it will be happy to know that the demo features the game's most popular new addition - the magnet gun. In addition to the use of this interesting magnetized weapon, you can use the in-game mechanics to reassemble demolished buildings and walkways or take out enemies by creating powerful wormholes. Of course, you can also blow up everything in sight in true Red Faction style.
Today, Bethesda Softworks announced their plans to release three more downloadable content packs for Fallout: New Vegas. The content will release simultaneously on the XBOX 360, PlayStation 3 and PC. The three packs, titled - Honest Hearts, Old World Blues and Lonesome Hearts will expand upon the game's sprawling universe, gritty gameplay and humor. As can be expected, they will also raise the stakes quite a bit.
Kinect ninjas in training, fear not. The popular iOS and Windows Phone 7 game, Fruit Ninja, has been detailed for Microsoft's Kinect peripheral. This means that all of the addictive fruit slicing gameplay will be available for play on a large screen in the near future. The leaked news comes via SiliconEra, who noticed that the Korean Game Ratings Board has listed a game named, Fruit Ninja Kinect.
Not too long ago, we reported that Square-Enix's incredibly popular RPG, Chrono Trigger, had been rated for the PlayStation Network. Now comes news that what is arguably one of the best games of all-time is set to debut on the Wii's Virtual Console service. The ESRB recently released a rating for the game for the Wii, in North America. Though it makes sense considering it was previously announced for both the European and Japanese Virtual Console services.
