During this weekend's PAX Prime convention, Gearbox Software unveiled a brand new multiplayer mode for its much-anticipated Xenomorphic licensed shooter, Aliens: Colonial Marines. Known simply as Escape, the four-on-four gameplay variant forces a team of soldiers to escape from a team of blood-thirsty aliens. Actually, in many ways, it's a lot like certain parts of the film series.

NHL 13 Will Feature A Redesigned Hockey Ultimate Team Mode

On September 11, NHL 13 will offer a redesigned version of Hockey Ultimate Team in addition to its other enhancements. That renovated version of the mode will not be driven by salary cap or career length limitations, both of which bogged it down in previous series entries. Additionally, its HUD and line management options have been streamlined and updated, allowing for easier roster optimization, as well as opposition scouting which will come in handy prior to games played against each Team of the Week.

A Lengthy Video Introduction To Borderlands 2 And Its Version Of Pandora

Pandora is a rather exotic place, filled with interesting citizens and creative enemies, who can be categorized as being outlandish, mechanical, surreal or organically-inspired. Watch As The Splinter Cell: Blacklist Demo Is Played Using The Full Stealth Approach

Since June's Electronic Entertainment Expo, we've seen Ubisoft representatives play through the company's great-looking Splinter Cell: Blacklist demo in a couple of ways. They've shown us the more violent approach, as well as how Sam can mess with the minds of his terrorist foes, but the full stealth approach had eluded us. At least, that was the case until this morning when Ubisoft Toronto's Community Developer, Zack Cooper, released his own narrated version of the 7.5 minute demo, which focuses on the alternative ghost approach.

Torchlight II Will Crawl Through Dungeons In Late September

Although it was originally intended to be released before, or at least close to Diablo III, Torchlight II has yet to become available to the dungeon-crawling populace. Sure, the extra waiting time isn't what we were all hoping for, but it happens, and the good news is that the sequel is now scheduled for release in less than one month from now.

In Ubisoft's zombie-filled apocalyptic survival shooter, ZombiU, a completely unsafe version of London is presented. Heck, even the Queen's residence at Buckingham Palace has been bit by the undead bug, becoming the home of brain-eating guards who will do anything to get an intelligent meal.

Scheduled For 2013, Dead Island: Riptide Is Actually A Spin-Off

Unveiled earlier this summer, Deep Silver's Dead Island: Riptide is actually a spin-off project as opposed to a sequel. The game will take place in the same world as its predecessor, but will focus on a different area, although players can import their character from the series' undead debut. Furthermore, its digitized environments will be found on a brand new island, which may cause some canon concerns.

3DS-Owning North Americans Will Be Able To Purchase Brain Age: Concentration Training This December

Through Twitter, Nintendo has confirmed that Brain Age: Concentration Training will receive North American localisation in early December. The mental puzzle game, which will allow 3DS owners to keep their brains in tip-top shape by presenting them with challenging puzzles, will work on a delayed system where questions will not be able to be answered until their successors are shown. As a result, its goal will be to improve their working memory.

Inside Assassin’s Creed III: Episode 2 Focuses On Combat

The second instalment in Ubisoft's very interesting Inside Assassin's Creed III developer diary series debuted this morning, and it's something that fans of the franchise certainly won't want to miss. That's because this entry focuses on the stealth-action game's combat systems, which were reworked from the ground up in order to create a much more dynamic experience. Players will be able to move through groups of foes like butter, and will have varied weapon types at their disposal, including Connor's favourite tomahawk, a bow and arrow and an interesting-looking chain that can pull enemies towards the stealthy protagonist. All of it looks great if you ask me, as the shown footage features smooth animations and brutal attack options that will make most people wince.

Borderlands 2 Season Pass Confirmed; Will Apply To Four DLC Expansions

This morning, 2K Games sent out a press release to announce the existence of its Borderlands 2 Season Pass. Given the current state of the gaming industry, and all of the nearly-identical passes we've seen in the last couple of years, the news didn't come as a surprise. However, fans of the franchise should be happy to hear of its existence and the monetary savings that it will offer.
