Chris Pratt's The Tomorrow War hit Amazon Prime Video today and it's lighting up social media. Pratt plays Dan Forester, a biology teacher and Iraq War special forces veteran who gets sucked into a bizarre time-travel adventure. The conceit is that in the year 2051 Earth is being invaded by aliens, with humanity now on the brink of extinction.
The Lord of the Rings franchise has been relatively quiet ever since The Hobbit: The Battle of the Five Armies released in 2014. But soon things will kick off in a big way when Amazon unveils their billion-dollar TV show based on Tolkien's books. Widely considered as their attempt to fill the gap left after Game of Thrones wrapped up.
This week has seen the Entertainment Memorabilia: Treasures from Film and Television live auction take place, with a tonne of amazing props on sale for those with deep pockets. These have ranged from a 'Terror Dog' stop motion puppet from Ghostbusters (sold for $11,000), a Velociraptor egg prop from Jurassic Park (sold for $16,000), to Vasquez's M-41A Pulse Rifle from Aliens (a whopping $85,000). But all of that pales in comparison to one iconic Friday the 13th prop: Jason Voorhees' iconic hockey mask.
Matt Reeves' The Batman comes at an interesting time for the titular hero. Warner Bros' plan to leave behind Zack Snyder and Ben Affleck's take on the Dark Knight was derailed when Zack Snyder's Justice League became an unexpected hit and audiences began clamoring for his story to be continued. Though the chances of the Snyderverse continuing seem slim, Affleck will reprise the role in The Flash alongside Michael Keaton's Burtonverse Batman.
In the run-up to 2013's Iron Man 3 fans were excited at the prospect of Tony Stark going up against The Mandarin, one of his greatest comic-book foes. A series of trailers promised a manipulative and powerful villain who'd tear apart Stark's life, courtesy of what looked like an imposing performance from Oscar-winning actor Ben Kingsley. What they got was... not that.
Don't Breathe was one of the best horror movies of the 2010s. Directed by Fede Álvarez and co-produced by Sam Raimi, the film was intended as a counterpoint to the 2013 remake of Evil Dead. What they came up with featured less blood, more suspense, and no reliance on supernatural elements... but was still absolutely terrifying. Now, the pair are back for another round, and it's all showcased in this amazing new trailer for Don't Breathe 2.
Vin Diesel is a busy man. After producing and starring in the Fast & Furious franchise he's become one of the world's highest-grossing actors, alongside running a production company, a record label, a games development studio and, of course, voicing Groot in the Guardians of the Galaxy movies. But there's one property that remains particularly close to his heart: Riddick.
Once upon a time, 2011's Green Lantern was planned to be Warner Bros' response to Iron Man. The movie was going to be a soft introduction to a new DC cinematic universe and would have been followed by a Flash film and eventually versions of Superman, Batman and the Justice League. Of course, it didn't work out that way, as Green Lantern flopped, received terrible reviews and is now largely forgotten.
