Anyone who watched the recent "Crisis on Infinite Earths" event probably agrees that Brandon Routh's turn as "Kingdom Come" Superman was one of the highlights. Routh, who will be leaving Legends of Tomorrow this season, previously played the Man of Steel in 2006's Superman Returns, and has admitted he would always be up for returning to the character. While already know there's going to be a Superman & Lois show with Tyler Hoechlin, rumors are circulating that Routh's Superman may get his own series.
With production now underway, we're gradually getting more glimpses at Matt Reeves' The Batman, including Colin Farrell's take on the Penguin. Robert Pattinson has also so far been open about his preparation for the role of Bruce Wayne and the Dark Knight, including his desire to push the role as far as he can. And now, the actor may have shared his look as Bruce for the movie, courtesy of a Dior photoshoot for Paris Fashion Week.
In news that's sure to disappoint many, Watchmen showrunner Damon Lindelof has admitted the chances of a second season are low. The HBO series takes the Alan Moore and Dave Gibbons material into fascinating places, updating its setting to the present, and telling a weird if always compelling story about race and power in America. However, a Watchmen Season 2 was never a foregone conclusion, and Lindelof has now distanced himself from returning to the material, albeit without dismissing the chances of someone else taking on the series.
After a long wait for its conclusion, the final two parts of the CW's "Crisis on Infinite Earths" will be with us tomorrow night. We've already had a run of teasers for the upcoming action, as well as images from Part 4 of the special. We now have a set of photos from the concluding episode of the Multiverse-destroying storyline, which will wrap up on Legends of Tomorrow. The images, which you can see below, aren't quit as detailed as the ones we had for the fourth instalment, but they give us some clues to the finale.
We're gradually getting more details on Matt Reeves' The Batman, from teases of Robert Pattinson's costume and Batmobile, to talk of which villains will survive into the final cut of the movie. The latest perspective on the Dark Knight's return comes from actor Peter Sarsgaard though, who's playing a so-far-unknown (at least officially) role in the pic.
Although we're still waiting for the January premiere of Star Trek: Picard, CBS All Access have now officially greenlit the second season of the show. The renewal was something that's been pretty much a done deal for a while, with the story circulating a few months ago that a second year was already in development. CBS All Access finally confirmed a season 2 at this weekend's Television Critics Association press tour though, stoking excitement for the long-term direction of the series.
Despite a drop in ratings and rumblings about its continued quality, Doctor Who Season 12 has at least sparked debate over its current mystery. The Timeless Child, which returned to the show's mythology in the two-part season opener, has long been discussed as something crucial to the history of Gallifrey and the Doctor's identity. The Master brought it back up in his return to the series, and indications were that discovering the who, why, and what of the Child will animate this year's overall storyline.
Hot on the news that FX have committed to another three seasons of American Horror Story, Sarah Paulson has now revealed that she's returning for season 10 of the Ryan Murphy show. Not only that, but she'll be playing a central part in the new run, rather than just making a guest appearance. The news is certain to make a lot of fans happy, especially considering Paulson was unable to make her usual appearance in season 9 of the series last year.
