Based on what we're hearing from Disney, the seventh and final season of Star Wars: The Clone Wars, now on Disney Plus, will be with us on February 17th, 2020. One of the more challenging aspects of the animated series, though, is that you won't get a chronological experience by just following the released episode order. Thankfully, then, we now have a correct viewing order courtesy of the official Star Wars site, which tells us all you need to know to catch up on The Clone Wars before its return.
While the release of Thor: Love and Thunder is still a long way off, news about the next solo movie for the hero is gradually coming in. As well as recent reports about Marvel being close to picking the villains for the film, the general message from the production team is that Love and Thunder will work on an even greater scale than Ragnarok. And now, we're hearing that Natalie Portman's Jane Foster, who will assume the mantle of Thor, will also be dealing with cancer, adapting her storyline from the comic book series that informs the movie.
We don't have long to wait until the premiere of Star Trek: Picard, with CBS All Access gradually releasing teasers for the new series. In recent days, we've seen a new version of Data, as well as more of Riker and Troi, building on the longer trailers that we previously received. The latest teaser for the show though focuses on Harry Treadaway's Romulan Agent Narek and sees him beaming to different locations while holding an orb.
We don't have long to wait for the final two parts of The CW's "Crisis on Infinite Earths" event, which will wrap up on January 14th. Joining synopses already available for the final episodes, as well as some teasers, we've now received a range of stills showing the remaining heroes of the DC Multiverse fighting the Anti-Monitor. And based on the images from the fourth part of the arc, which you can see below, things aren't going particularly well for our characters.
We recently learned from Kevin Feige that Marvel will be introducing a transgender character to the MCU, and that they're part of a film that's currently shooting. Although we still don't know what movie this will be, although our bet's probably on Thor: Love and Thunder, Mark Ruffalo has been quick to voice his support for the decision, adding to a long history of promoting progressive causes via his social media.
Although the future of Venom in the Marvel and Sony cinematic universes is somewhat unclear, there are a few theories as to how the symbiote may cross between different worlds. The current Venom series from Marvel Comics is also offering increased evidence though that Eddie Brock could eventually be regarded as a key player for the side of good in the publisher's main continuity. Indeed, Captain America appears to be keen to bring Brock/Venom into the Avengers fold, according to the latest issue of the title.
Long-established as fan favorites in the DC Universe, the New Gods were introduced by Jack Kirby in the 1970s through the planets of New Genesis and Apokolips. Part of Kirby's "Fourth World" series, these planets are ruled by god-like beings, including Darkseid on Apokolips, and New Genesis heroes such as Big Barda and Mister Miracle. While being a part of the DCEU, including Ava DuVernay's upcoming New Gods movie, their presence in the Arrowverse has seemingly been referenced via the ongoing "Crisis on Infinite Earths" event.
While you may assume that the Avengers, the Fantastic Four or the X-Men are the strongest group of superheroes in the Marvel universe, one team has them beat, at least according to a new theory over on ScreenRant. Based on the individual and combined powers of the characters, the theory goes that the Great Lakes Avengers are actually Marvel's secret MVPs. With most of its members not widely known though, it's worth looking at the team in more detail to see if the idea holds up.
Marvel Studios President Kevin Feige has confirmed that a trans character is on the way for the MCU. Speaking as part of a Q&A session at the New York Film Academy, which has already yielded multiple insights into the Marvel creative process, Feige was asked about plans to bring more LGBT+ characters into the Marvel Cinematic Universe, and more specifically trans characters. The Marvel chief replied by acknowledging the presence of a trans character in an upcoming project.
