A trim chap who is alarmingly adept with a pack of cards. Oh and he greatly enjoys writing about lots of different things...including monkeys...and various varieties of cheeses.
Yesterday Evolution Studios released the first of three developer diaries explaining the various game modes and new vehicle types. This juicy vid (courtesy of the Playstation.blog) is packed full of gameplay footage as the team share their thoughts on the latest Motorstorm title.
Today, Call Of Duty: Black Ops developers, Treyarch have pushed out the latest patch for their game. 1.05 for the PS3 version was hastily made to deal with the original issues with the multiplayer before 1.04came out, and to amend the new problems 1.04 actually brought into the game. So yes, Treyarch have quite literally patched the patch (amongst other things) and because it is just for the one console, they’ve done it in record time.
As we are drawing very close to the big day of the festive season, we’ve all been sending Christmas cards, sharing mince pies, and generally singing atrociously. It’s a time to feel jolly and spend time with loved ones, and everyone is getting ready to put their feet up for a week or so of feasting and farting.
We can stop speculating and silently praying before we turn the turn the lights off and go to sleep now, as Ubisoft have finally given an official listing for the Splinter Cell Collection coming to the PS3.
So while a large and terrifying number of you will be playing Call Of Duty: Black Ops online, day in day out...night in...night out...an admirable portion of you are playing Ubisoft’s hooded hero; Assassin’s Creed: Brotherhood. Yeah the numbers aren’t as impressive, but there is no lag so pftttttt to the haters.
At least that’s what the Producer and Writer for Bulletstorm is saying, and when you think about that for even a second, it’s actually quite a bold statement. I mean sure, every marketing monkey-act for any game is always keen to convince you that their title has that edge over all the other ‘rubbish’ out there. But very seldom do we see a development team make such an obvious stab at the current craze: gritty-realism.
So the long awaited and much needed patch for Treyarch’s Call Of Duty: Black Ops went live less than a day ago now, and while it was one of those few situations where players actually were WAITING for a fix, they were absolutely gutted to discovered first hand that 1.04 made things worse. At the moment the reports of complaints are only coming back about the PS3 version, but it seems that this ‘major’ update has caused even more problems than we originally had to deal with, and now it’s hard to see what they were even patching in the first place.
Calm down, breathe deep. This is the first substantial unedited video clip of Uncharted 3 in action. For some annoying reason it was showcased on the Jimmy Fallon show and that man still gets on my nerves, but Drake is there, so I’ll endure for five minutes.
The guys over at Naughty Dog have edited together a little video about the anticipation for Uncharted 3, and offer a humbling insight into how the studio feels about the success of the previous game. The footage shows parts of the working studio and the team, generally creating that trademark grounded feeling Naught Dog always have.
With 2010 slowly drawing to a close and the VGA winners all announced and appropriately applauded, gamers now look towards 2011 and what it holds for us all. But suddenly one thing strikes me almost straight away; Sony have a rather impressive list of exclusives set to storm the market all through 2011, and Nintendo and Microsoft comparatively are very thin on exclusive bragging rights.
