With the release of Ruben Fleischer’s Venom so close you can practically smell the toxicity in the air, earlier this week, it was revealed that the sinister symbiote will be gracing the cover of Total Film. While the artwork was unquestionably an extraordinary tease of the October 5th release, evidently, what’s on the inside of the magazine is far more tantalizing.
Initially slated for a March 2nd, 2018 release, before the due date was pulled forward to February 9th, which was pushed back to August 3rd, and then subsequently moved once more, Shane Black’s The Predator will finally have its world premiere at the 2018 Toronto International Film Festival, before opening stateside on September 14th. According to Variety, however, the nearly decade-long wait for the extraterrestrial killing machine to get another shot at a proper sequel will not be one for the record book.
While The Conjuring universe is world-renowned for producing a thoroughly spine-chilling experience at the cinema, the latest installment, The Nun, is vowing to be “the darkest chapter” yet and has just delivered a genuinely trepidatious gallery to prove it.
Although some may search for evidence to the contrary, it's looking less and less likely that Ben Affleck will be donning the cape and cowl for Matt Reeves in The Batman.
He might not be the most popular guy in the Marvel Cinematic Universe at the moment, but there’s no denying that Thanos (Josh Brolin) packed quite the sockdolager in Avengers: Infinity War and, as a result of the snap heard around the world, the culmination of a decade-long effort to unite Earth’s Mightiest Heroes on the big screen was undoubtedly one to remember.
It’s rather easy to forget superhero-dom isn’t all it’s cracked up to be, especially when your name is Tony Stark (Robert Downey Jr.), or, for that matter, Bruce Wayne (Ben Affleck). Sure, being a “genius, billionaire, playboy, philanthropist” is excellent and all, but occasionally, you’re stuck dealing with the seedy underbelly of a major city, and more often than not, the very people you’re out there trying to save, wind up trying your patience.
There's been a ton of speculation pertaining to the Green Lantern Corps movie, both in front of and behind, the camera. Last week, for example, it was revealed that none other than three-time Academy Award nominee, Tom Cruise, was initially the frontrunner to portray Hal Jordan in the 2020 superhero blockbuster, but ultimately passed due to a creative difference. Unfortunately, scuttlebutt is about as far as we get on the directing front, too.
Along the way, the Merc with a Mouth picked up a quarter-hour of additional footage, and an audio commentary featuring Rhett Reese, Paul Wernick, David Leitch, and, of course, Ryan Reynolds - which Wade Wilson and company are deeming: Deadpool 2: The Super Duper $@%!#& Cut. That said, the theatrical cut really is good enough to warrant the purchase, let alone with the slew of bonus content promised on the packaging, but I digress.
Yesterday, Albert Valladares, who portrayed a hired gun in the divisive 2016 blockbuster, Batman V Superman: Dawn of Justice, shared the below image of himself and none other than DCEU founding father, Zack Snyder. The photo, posted to Valladares’ official Instagram page, showcases the stuntman listening intently to the “wisdom” being bestowed upon him by Snyder on the set of the aforementioned superhero feature.
Last month, the Marvel Cinematic Universe was dealt one helluva sockdolager when The Walt Disney Company fired filmmaker James Gunn from Guardians of the Galaxy Vol. 3 - who, mind you, had been the shepherd of the irreverent supergroup since the first film entered development in 2012. While decidedly unfortunate, the adverse effect of his termination was not solely contained to the highest grossing film franchise of all time.
