He's proven the existence of Jesus Christ, restored balance to Hindu magic, and, inexplicably, discovered intelligent alien lifeforms. Now, he'll conquer the most grand of all adventures: aging! I am speaking, of course, of Indiana Jones and his globetrotting treasure-hunting exploits. The fifth film in the franchise has been long threatened, even since Crystal Skull hit theaters a whopping eleven years ago, but steam picked up in the last few years. Now we're at the point where it's all becoming real: the production has confirmed they plan to start shooting the fifth, and presumably final, entry in the series starting in April 2020 in jolly ol' London.
While Marvel had the lion's share of attention over the Comic-Con weekend, Blumhouse snuck in and stole a bunch of Thor's thunder with the announcement of sequels to 2018's Halloween in the form of Halloween Kills and Halloween Ends. Now, to add more goodness to the October festivities, the OG Michael Myers himself, Nick Castle, confirmed on Twitter that he's coming back in Kills.
Over the weekend, Comic-Con confirmed quite a bit of Marvel news. We're getting a new Blade movie, Kumail Nanjiani is officially eternal, and Black Widow was finally, 100% announced. Kevin Feige and co. had been pretty sparse on the pic's details in recent months, up to and including whether or not it was even really happening in the face of photos leaked from set. Now, though, we've seen the logo and know roughly when it takes place, but those rascals didn't say who the villain was.
There was that wacky Saw series news that broke a while ago that Chris Rock, of all people, was starring in a reboot of the infamously gory torture porn series. He even provided the story idea for this upcoming flick, which was kind of the catalyst for the whole thing. Then there was the casting of Samuel L. Jackson to play Rock's dad. Like, how bonkers can this movie get? Well, apparently things are going so well that Lionsgate announced that the movie is now coming out in May 2020 as opposed to the original date of October 2020.
In Jason Blum's recent tweet, he not only confirmed a sequel and threequel to 2018's Halloween, but the producer also revealed John Carpenter's return too.
Golly gee, when was the last time there was a good horror show on TV? I guess The Terror probably counts (I am assuming it's scary due to it's on-the-nose title). Otherwise most reality TV is pretty terrifying! Zing! Got'em! But I might also need to get Shudder soon, because they have a Creepshow show coming out! And ya know what? It looks like a lot of stylized spooky fun! Thank you, Comic Con, for bringing us more gory good news, and showing us how much fun we will have being scared by the upcoming anthology series.
