In news that isn't all too surprising, Variety is reporting tonight that Paramount has hired Christopher McQuarrie to pen Mission: Impossible 6. Seeing as the director did a commendable job with the last instalment, Mission: Impossible - Rogue Nation, it makes sense that they'd want to enlist him once again. There's no confirmation yet on if he'll get behind the camera as well, but talks are underway and it's a definite possibility.
Jessica Jones will be available to stream from tomorrow (well, from midnight tonight if you fancy missing out on sleep to binge-watch), and in anticipation of the premiere of Marvel's second Netflix show, they've released the full opening sequence online for us to take a look at.
During an interview to promote the upcoming Victor Frankenstein with IGN, James McAvoy and Daniel Radcliffe were asked a very geeky question about what would happen if Charles Xavier and Harry Potter went up against Frankenstein's monster. As it turns out, the question reminded McAvoy of a scene he shot for Mathew Vaughn's X-Men: First Class that wound up being cut from the film, and when he describes how it played out, it's not hard to see why.
J.J. Abrams was seemingly right when he stated that the recent third trailer for Star Wars: The Force Awakens would be the final one - but he didn't mention the barrage of new footage we'd be getting in these TV spots. Of course it's normal for any big tent-pole to hammer home the promotion in the buildup to its release, but some fans are becoming increasingly perturbed by the sheer number of new shots floating around the web now.
Friday is Jessica Jones day, and to build even more excitement, Marvel and Netflix have released a couple of clips from their latest collaborative effort, giving us a look at the villainous Kilgrave (David Tennant) in action.
CBS has released the synopsis for their upcoming seventh episode of Supergirl, "Human for a Day," and it reveals that Charles Halford (formerly Chas on the cancelled NBC Constantine series) will guest-star as "powerful alien escapee," Jemm.
According to Latino Review, Colin Farrell is being eyed to play John Constantine in the upcoming Justice League Dark film. While still in the very early stages of development, Warner Bros. is looking to push ahead with the adaptation sooner rather than later, and Scott Rudin and Guillermo del Toro are currently on board to produce.
On the heels of that batch of character posters, the first trailer for Alex Proyas' (The Crow, Wicked City, Knowing) mythological adventure flick, Gods Of Egypt, has been released. This one looks like it might be fun, and it's definitely not taking itself particularly seriously with its colourful array of costumes and larger than life (literally) characters - but while watching one cant help but be reminded of a certain Clash of the Titans remake from a few years back., and that didn't turn out very well at all.
It's become a tradition for Stan Lee, who created some of Marvel's most well-known and enduring characters, to pop up for a brief cameo in Marvel movies. Though he's missed out on a few here and there for whatever reason, most of the studio's big-screen output features an appearance from "The Man" himself. Now, that's continued with Marvel's TV projects - though Lee doesn't make his presence felt in exactly the same manner.
Jurassic World actor B.D. Wong has posted the above image to his Instagram page, teasing his upcoming debut as classic Batman villain, Hugo Strange, on a future episode of Fox's Gotham. The seven different mugshots re apparently variations on the sinister psychiatrist's final look, and one will be settled on by the time they shoot. Of course, it's just as likely they already know which one they'll be going with, and Wong is just having some fun here.
