Alright horror collectors, I hope you’ve been saving your money! Why? How about because on September 13th, 2013 (Friday the 13th of course!), one of the most iconic horror slashers in history will be headed to Blu-Ray in the form of a complete franchise box set. You heard me right, on September 13th, Friday The 13th‘s favorite masked murderer Jason returns to terrorize victims in glorious Blu-Ray quality with Friday The 13th: The Complete Collection.
I’m not sure if I really need to explain why Blu-Ray collectors should be excited, but here are just a few reasons!
Let’s start with the fact that the complete collection will include all the original Friday The 13th films, Freddy Vs. Jason, and Platinum Dunes’ 2009 remake, which will be watchable in both its theatrical and unrated “Killer Cut” release. That’s twelve, count em’, twelve times the Jason in one glorious box set, which is only made more valuable because seven of the titles are making their Blu-Ray debut. Here’s the full listing of movies that are included in this killer box set, and specifically which ones are first time releases:
Friday the 13th (1980)
Friday the 13th Part 2 (1981)
Friday the 13th Part 3 in 3D (1982)
Friday the 13th: The Final Chapter (1984) NEW TO BLU-RAY
Friday the 13th Part V: A New Beginning (1985) NEW TO BLU-RAY
Friday the 13th Part VI: Jason Lives (1986) NEW TO BLU-RAY

Jason Goes to Hell: The Final Friday (1993)NEW TO BLU- RAY
Jason X (2002) NEW TO BLU-RAY
Freddy vs. Jason (2003)
Friday the 13th (2009) (Theatrical Version and “Killer Cut” Extended Version)
In addition to bolstering your Blu-Ray collection with this storied franchise, there is also a bonus disc of extra goodies that spans the production of each film. You’ll be treated to behind the scenes looks at all the films, along with some special edition swag you can only get by purchasing this box set. Check out the press release below to find out what treasures await you in this epic visit back to Camp Crystal Lake, as well as how much it’s going to run you:
The 10-disc collection ($129.95 SRP) includes the twelve films on nine Blu-ray discs, as well as a killer DVD bonus disc full of special features on the making of the famous franchise. The must-own set will be presented in a collectible tin case with 11 hours of previously released special features and a 40-page soft cover book. The book is excerpted from Crystal Lake Memories: The Complete History of Friday The 13th, a fan-favorite volume that’s viewed as the ultimate memoir of the series, and highlights some of the 200 interviews, 600 photos, storyboards, concept art and more. Also included is a brand new, official Camp Crystal Lake embroidered Counselor Patch.
I’ve already got my Nightmare On Elm Street ultimate box set displayed proudly in my Blu-Ray collection, but there’s been an empty space next to Freddy that no horror icon can really fill. Thankfully, Warner Bros. Home Entertainment will help me plug that hole on September 13th, 2013 with the release of Friday The 13th: The Complete Collection. What do you say everyone, Friday The 13th marathon at my house that weekend? I’ll supply the pizza, you bring the beers.
Are any other Blu-Ray collectors as excited as I am for this release?! Let us know in the comments if you’ll be picking up this bad boy to display proudly!
