‘I just finished a job,’ Brad Pitt reveals buzz cut mystery as he teases secret new character role

The mystery continues.

Brad Pitt made a notable appearance at the New York City premiere of his latest movie F1 on June 16, sporting a buzzcut that has caught the attention of many fans. The 61-year-old actor walked the red carpet in a navy blue double-breasted suit, paired with a white shirt and satin pocket square.

According to People, the Hollywood star was accompanied by his girlfriend, Ines de Ramon, marking a rare public appearance for the couple who have been taking major steps in their relationship. De Ramon, 32, showed her support wearing a sheer halter top and long feathered skirt, complemented by a white Chanel purse.

When asked about his new hairstyle, which was first noticed while he was driving around Los Angeles last month, Pitt simply stated, “I just finished a job. It’s for a character we did.” The look was also featured in his GQ summer issue cover, released in late May.

What we know about Brad Pitt’s new Formula 1 movie

In ‘F1’, Pitt plays Sonny Hayes, a former Formula 1 driver who returns to racing after a 30-year break. The story follows Hayes, who was once the most promising talent of the 1990s before a near-career-ending accident changed his path. The character returns to Formula 1 when his former teammate, Ruben Cervantes, played by Javier Bardem, asks for his help in saving a struggling racing team.

During the premiere, Pitt shared his experiences filming at various prestigious racing locations. “I got a lot, but every time I got in the car, these tracks are just like hallowed ground,” he said, specifically mentioning Silverstone, Spa in Belgium, and Abu Dhabi as memorable venues.

The actor also described the unique feeling of driving at high speeds for the movie. He explained that there’s a strange sense of calm when hitting the breaking points and turning points during racing scenes, calling the experience “incredible.”

The film features a strong supporting cast including Damson Idris, Kerry Condon, Tobias Menzies, Sarah Niles, and Samson Kayo. Formula 1 champion Lewis Hamilton serves as one of the producers of the movie, which faced production delays when Pitt shut down filming in solidarity with Hollywood workers. The story emphasizes the competitive nature of Formula 1 racing, particularly the rivalry between teammates, as Hayes seeks redemption in the sport. Movie fans can watch F1 when it releases in theaters on June 27.
