3D Realms, the creative minds behind such seminal, balls-to-the-wall titles as Duke Nukem 3D, Wolfenstein 3D and Shadow Warrior, have announced plans to release a 32-game compilation of the studio’s greatest hits all the while promising to launch brand new software through a newly-assembled development team.

The once-defunct studio revealed the 3D Realms Anthology through its official website, and long-time fans of the company’s gleefully bombastic style can pick up the collection for $19.99 for the next forty-eight hours.

“3D Realms is back. After a historic 22 years of kicking ass and not chewing gum, the legendary developer is returning with new talent, new games and a renewed passion for innovative experiences. So, to mark the relaunch of the official 3D Realms website and the release of the 3D Realms Anthology, we’re taking a brief look at the landmark achievements of a developer that went on to define a decade.”

The announcement comes a full five years after 3D Realms closed its doors, and it’s understood that, in rising from the ashes, the company has recruited the likes of Bryan Turner and Scott Miller — who were original members of the studio throughout the 90s and early 2000s.

Fast forward to 2014 and the elusive developer is back in action. Joining the likes of Duke Nukem 3D on the compilation’s roster are a host of other PC classics, including Rise of the Triad: Dark War and Commander Keen: Goodbye Galaxy. So, if you feel like a dose of nostalgia this weekend, we’d strongly recommend giving the package a whirl to relive some of the indelible golden years of PC gaming.

For the comprehensive list of DRM-free software included in the 32-game compilation, you can head on over to 3D Realms‘ official website.
