Is Crackdown 3 Already In Development?

Today seems to be the day for Xbox One rumors. After hearing some Halo-related news earlier as well as a scoop on some new Xbox One bundles/SKUs coming later this year, it’s time for another tasty piece of gossip. This time, it’s about Crackdown 3 and according to a user on NeoGAF (the same one who spilt the earlier rumors), the game is already in development and is eyeing a 2016 release.

Apparently, the people behind Crackdown 3 are Scottish studio Cloudgine. That name might not sound significant but get this. Their co-founder happens to be none other than David Jones, the creator of the original Crackdown. Coincidence, I think not?

It’s also interesting to note that this isn’t the first we’ve heard of a potential Crackdown 3. Rumors have been popping up for a while now and I’m starting to feel like this one is all but confirmed. As a big fan of the series, I certainly hope that’s the case. The sequel might have dropped the ball a bit but the original Crackdown was one of my favorite Xbox 360 titles and to hear that Crackdown 3 might be back in the hands of Jones is a very reassuring thought.

Tell us, do you want to see a Crackdown 3 developed by David Jones?
