Back when Capcom announced Ultra Street Fighter IV, they revealed that this new release would include 5 new fighters. Returning fan favorites Rolento, Elena, Hugo and Poison were initially revealed, with the last character being kept under wraps. At this weekend’s Final Round 17 event in Atlanta, GA though, Capcom finally announced that the fifth character included is going to be Decapre, a new fighter to the series.

Decapre initially made a brief appearance back in Street Fighter Alpha 3 as one of M. Bison’s Dolls. Brainwashed by Shadaloo in order to protect Bison, Decapre hails from Russia and wears a partial mask in order to cover the burns that scarred her face. She will feature “quick and elusive scramble moves,” as well as psycho powered infused attacks, much like her boss. She is the fourth playable Doll to be included in the series, as fan favorite Cammy used to be one and Juni and Juli from Street Fighter Alpha 3 were also working for M. Bison.

In addition to the 5 new characters, Ultra Street Fighter IV features balances tweaks to the returning 39 fighters, 6 new environments, direct YouTube integration that will allow you to upload your favorite clips from the game and the ability to select between any previous edition of the game to play through.

I have to say that this is a bit of a surprise for the final character. Instead of choosing from the plethora of previous Street Fighter combatants they have, Capcom decided to go with Decapre, a bit character from a game that is well over a decade old. As long as she is fun to use though, I suppose the popularity of the character doesn’t really matter.

Ultra Street Fighter IV will launch for the PlayStation 3 and Xbox 360 this June, with a Windows PC version following in August. If you already own Super Street Fighter IV, you can digitally upgrade to Ultra for $14.99. Otherwise, you can purchase the full retail version of the game for $39.99.
