LEGO Star Wars: The Force Awakens Will Have Exclusive DLC On PlayStation Platforms

Sony's secured an exclusivity deal with the developers of LEGO Star Wars: The Force Awakens for some special DLC just for PlayStation 4 and PlayStation 3 owners. Despite the game being unveiled earlier than intended over on Xbox.com, it seems that the definitive version of the title will be that of its direct competitor.

Sony’s secured an exclusivity deal with the developers of LEGO Star Wars: The Force Awakens for some special DLC just for PlayStation 4 and PlayStation 3 owners. Despite the game being unveiled earlier than intended over on Xbox.com, it seems that the definitive version of the title will be that of its direct competitor.

Included, in the exclusive DLC packs will be a Droid Character Pack and a Phantom Limb Level Pack, says TT Games’ Jamie Eden.

Through a strong collaboration with Lucasfilm, we’ve been able to create new stories and adventures connecting the Star Wars narrative, both before and tying into the movie. As such huge fans of the franchise, it’s a tremendous honour to have that privilege.

As part of this, we’re pleased to share that PS4 and PS3 players will have access to exclusive downloadable content in the form of a Droid Character Pack and Phantom Limb Level Pack. We can’t go into too much detail right now, but we can’t wait for people to experience the content from the film, as well as new stories in Star Wars: The Force Awakens.

Phantom Limb, you say? Those two words evoke more than just a little familiarity, don’t they? Could we be seeing some sort of tie-in DLC with Metal Gear Solid V: The Phantom Pain? Possibly.

As for the Droid Character pack, we can only imagine it will include some of the more quirky and lesser-known droids from the Star Wars universe. We can’t imagine TT Games will deprive Xbox One players of the chance to play as instant-favourite BB-8 or even R2-D2 and C-3PO for that matter.

Ah well, we don’t have that long of a wait to see what sorts of secrets, Easter eggs and clever jokes LEGO Star Wars: The Force Awakens have in-store for us; it launches on June 28 for PC, PlayStation 4, PlayStation 3, PlayStation Vita, Xbox One, Xbox 360, Wii U, 3DS and PC. Whew, that’s a lot of platforms.
