New Injustice 2 Trailer Showcases Brainiac’s Frightening Combat Efficiency

The latest trailer for NetherRealm's superpowered beat 'em up Injustice 2 is here and just like last week's offering, this particular video is all about Brainiac. We've already gotten a good idea of what nefarious schemes the supervillain has planned for Earth come May, but not until now have been privy to how the android will actually dole out the pain when going one-on-one with the rest of Injustice 2's cast. Needless to say, Brainiac's brutal fighting style suggests he's not looking to take any prisoners.

The latest trailer for NetherRealm’s superpowered beat ’em up, Injustice 2 is here and just like last week’s offering, this particular video is all about Brainiac. We’ve already gotten a good idea of what nefarious schemes the supervillain has planned for Earth come May, but not until now have fans been privy to how the android will actually dole out the pain when going one-on-one with the rest of Injustice 2‘s cast. Needless to say, Brainiac’s brutal fighting style suggests he’s not looking to take any prisoners.

Like a scarily efficient combination of NetherRealm’s own Mortal Kombat icon Scorpion and Doctor Octopus, Brainiac favors using a series of mechanical tentacles that protrude out of his back and limbs to pummel his opponents into submission. If you think keeping your distance from the maniacal entity will ensure your safety though, don’t be fooled – Brainiac can propel himself around the arena with his extra appendages like an angry pinball.

He certainly looks like a heavy-hitter in every sense of the word, then, but the Brainbox is anything but a one-trick pony. Orbital lasers and projectiles are also part of the character’s repertoire: perfect zoning tools to keep his opponents either at bay or in the range of his more intimate combos. Brainiac doesn’t discriminate when it comes to giving his enemies a good lashing, either. Superman, Green Arrow and Society leader Gorilla Grodd all take a good beating throughout the trailer’s duration, although it’s the Man of Steel who bears the brunt of his onslaught.

We’re still a few weeks out from Injustice 2‘s launch on Xbox One and PlayStation 4, but NetherRealm’s certainly doing all it can to keep our lust for more info satiated ahead of May 16. Hang in there, DC fans!
