Over the past few months, Ninja Theory has drip fed information to budding fans through a series of development diaries, with another one surfacing online earlier today. It also comes tethered with news of the Hellblade‘s gameplay debut, which has been slated for an unveiling on June 10, a mere few days before E3 2015 kicks off in earnest.

Don’t get your hopes up for a release date just yet, however, with the studio reaffirming that the project is still very much in its nascent stages. Even still, the fact that Ninja Theory is primed to reveal the first gameplay is certainly worth getting excited about.

Shrouded in mystery since its inception, fan theories for Hellblade have been running rampant on the Internet, with many attributing the likeness of the flame-haired protagonist to Nariko from Heavenly Sword, an action title that just so happens to be developed by NT. Couple this with the fact that the titles for each game are essentially binary opposites and it’s entirely possible that Ninja Theory’s new IP will hold some semblance of lore associated with the 2007 PlayStation 3 exclusive. The connection – or lack thereof – will ultimately be determined in time.

Hellblade is currently slated for release across PlayStation 4 and PC. No word yet on a release window, but one would imagine Ninja Theory will keep the title in development until at least 2016.
