“Knock knock, open up the door, it’s real.”
Who knew that Resident Evil 2 and DMX would go so well together? Seeing as Capcom’s wildly successful reboot features a relentless (and absolutely terrifying) brute known only as Mr. X, the fans quickly dubbed the song “X Gon’ Give It To Ya” into the game which, as you could imagine, resulted in some truly hilarious videos of RE2‘s tyrant wreaking havoc on Leon and Claire.
But why should Mr. X get all the fun? There’s a lot more that can be modified and changed in the game and this latest mod swaps out Ms. Redfield for none other than Captain Marvel. Yes, Carol Danvers herself appears in Resident Evil 2 in the video below, though it doesn’t seem as if you can use any of her awesome powers.
Instead, this seems to be more of just an alternate costume for Claire, which is fine by us as seeing Captain Marvel running around Raccoon City is pretty amusing. If nothing else, it’s yet another fun mod for the game and fans should definitely get a kick out of it. Besides, it’s not like you can really play as the MCU’s most powerful hero anywhere else at the moment, right? When it comes to good superhero games, the industry doesn’t exactly have much to offer.
But we digress. From the aforementioned X Gon’ Give It To Ya mod, to the weirdly sexy thong mod, to one that literally swaps Mr. X for Thomas The Tank Engine (yes, really), the modding community has been having quite a bit of fun with Resident Evil 2 in recent weeks and with them showing no signs of slowing down, we can’t wait to see what they think up next.
