Star Wars Jedi: Fallen Order Trailer

Star Wars Jedi: Fallen Order Will Feature Both New And Iconic Characters

Star Wars Jedi: Fallen Order's place in the franchise's wider narrative is getting clearer by the day. Up until its official reveal over the weekend, a few morsels of information provided by EA had clued fans into the fact that Respawn's single-player adventure would take place shortly after Star Wars: Episode III - Revenge of the Sith, but little more. In light of the deluge of new details provided at Star Wars Celebration, however, a bigger picture is beginning to form.

A survivor of Emperor Palpatine’s Jedi-destroying Order 66, Padawan Cal Kestis has sought refuge on the planet of Bracca. Following an accident that forces Cal to reveal his true nature, the Jedi-in-training flees the planet while being pursued by the Second Sister, an Inquisitor whose sole mission it is to hunt down any remaining Jedi. The teasers get infinitely juicier from here on out, however, as EA’s press release confirms the return of some “familiar faces,” as Cal struggles to escape the Empire’s grasp.

Who are the mysterious individuals being referred to, you ask? Sadly, the answers remain hidden (and likely will be until closer to launch), but that’s hardly going to stop fans from drafting shortlists of potential candidates. Cal is far from the only Jedi still living in this time period, after all, so characters like Yoda or Ben Kenobi are two of the most likely contenders. Depending on where Cal’s travels take him, even Jabba the Hutt could be in the running. It’s worth mentioning that Fallen Order‘s placement on the timeline is closer to Revenge of the Sith than to A New Hope, so characters exclusive to the latter trilogy could be a tall order, but never say never.

As we inch ever closer to June and the inevitable gameplay reveal at this year’s E3, expect further hints and teasers regarding Star Wars Jedi: Fallen Order‘s cast to materialize. In the meantime, let us know in the usual place below which iconic figures from the series’ history you’d like to see make a return.
