8) Cable
Despite the fact that Deadpool 2 recently lost its director, chances are that it will be the next Marvel movie from Fox to reach theaters after Logan. If that’s the case, an after-credits scene setting up the events of the Merc with a Mouth’s sequel would make sense, and a first look at Cable would be very cool for fans. Considering the fact that the role hasn’t been cast yet, the studio will need to get this done soon, but it’s possible something could be filmed to set up his future in the X-Men Universe.
As a time traveller with ties to Mister Sinister, Cable coming back in time hoping to find Wolverine and realizing that he’s no longer a hero could very well help set up the events of the X-Force spinoff being planned and may explain why he ultimately decides to track down the Merc with the Mouth instead.
