If you’re a fan of the Friday the 13th film franchise, you’re probably lamenting how the legal woes surrounding it have been preventing us from receiving another entry in the long-running series. Heck, we can’t even get any new video games or DLC, save for a Nintendo Switch port on the horizon.

That said, all we can do for the time being is enjoy the already existing movies. On the plus side, slasher enthusiasts can now revisit the 2009 remake in style, thanks to Best Buy. To be more specific, the retail giant is rolling out the first ever steelbook edition beginning on Tuesday, August 27th. Yes, it’s exclusive to their chain, but here’s another bonus: it’ll go for only $14.99.

As you can see in the photo below, the cover art is highly reminiscent of those corresponding to earlier entries in the saga. Unfortunately, bonus content hasn’t been advertised as of the time of this writing, so it may be fair to assume that featurettes offered by past editions will be retained.

For those unfamiliar, the Friday the 13th remake didn’t focus on Mrs. Voorhees mowing down negligent teen camp counselors. Rather, it chose to back longstanding icon Jason in an original tale that provided homages to the first three flicks.

In this instance, Jason was a bit faster than we’d normally been used to seeing, not to mention more cunning and resourceful. These alterations proved to be somewhat controversial at the time, but did they ever make for a tension-filled viewing experience. Plus, Derek Mears lent considerable physical presence to the role. If his name sounds familiar to you, it should, because he’s also gone on to play titular creatures in both Predators and Swamp Thing.

If that weren’t enough, Jared Padalecki (Supernatural) and Danielle Panabaker (The Flash) lent their respective talents to the piece as well. And even though the former is well known for thwarting various ghosts, demons and monsters on his own TV series, he’s probably yet to forget this weekend in the woods.
