As Captain America 4 continues shooting on the streets of Atlanta, Marvel’s eternal enemies — fan photographers — have revealed that none other than WWE vet Seth Rollins has joined the cast of the film. What’s more, all the signs are pointing to him being another foe for Anthony Mackie’s Sam Wilson to fight in his inaugural cinematic outing as the Sentinel of Liberty. Who knows, with any luck, Rollins may succeed whether his fellow wrestlers-turned-actors Dwayne Johnson and John Cena have failed and star in a comic book film that, you know, isn’t a box office bomb.

In news that is distressing Marvel fans far and wide, some leaked pages from an upcoming comic book appear to confirm that one of the trio of heroines set to lead this November’s The Marvels is about to meet their end in the Marvel Comics universe. The timing of this shocking turn of events, as well as allegations of racism and sexism, is leaving Marvel Comics on thin ice with die-hards, so the upcoming Brie Larson sequel had better be set to treat this character with the utmost respect or else the film will have to add this situation to its ever-growing list of swirling controversies.

With James Gunn out the door, but a fourth Guardians movie remaining very much on the cards, Marvel now has the unenviable task of attempting to find a filmmaker with the same level of panache and style as the new DC chief. One potential contender who would seem to tick all the boxes, almost Ant-Man director Edgar Wright, was briefly floated as the ideal candidate… Until the internet at large seemed to turn on the notion for being too small-minded. Sure, Wright is often pitched as being a good choice to direct this or that Marvel or DC flick… but isn’t that just because he’s a good director?

Just like a Disney heavyweight is extremely ready to make their grand return to the MCU, more of the latest Marvel news updates are poised to pounce in your direction very soon.
