Disclaimer: This movie will fuck your night up. It’s sick, depraved, and grotesque, and that’s by Asian extremism cinema standards. What’s so unnerving isn’t the obscurity though, as movies like Tokyo Gore Police and Vampire Girl vs. Frankenstein Girl go for the jugular of insanity. Dream Home instead remains disturbingly realistic, grounding actions through a perfectly human main character.

Josie Ho plays a woman named Cheng, a girl obsessed with a specific apartment she wishes to own. Not having the money, Cheng devises a sinister plan to drive the apartment’s cost down, and sets out killing other building attendants in hopes that prospective owners stay far away from the building with a “murderer” on the loose. Cheng dispatches victims in increasingly perverse ways, spilling entrails and spraying blood, but the most demented kill of all has to be Chen’s assault on a pregnant mother. I’ve seen so many crazy horror kills, but the reality of something so simple shook me for days.

Dream Home will invade your mindspace and leave you gasping – but is a must see for true horror fans.
