To bring those late to the party up to speed, know this flick does indeed follow the New 52-inspired continuity begun by Justice League: War – but it’s set earlier on the timeline. From the look of it, we could consider it animation’s answer to Wonder Woman: Year One, though I must be quick to point out this isn’t an adaptation of Greg Rucka and Nicola Scott’s work on the comic book side. I mean, it’s possible some cues could be taken from the book, but this is an original story.

Whetting our appetites today is the first kick-ass trailer promoting the picture, which has been embedded at the top of this article. At first, you may bring up how we’re yet again seeing how Diana Prince (Rosario Dawson) and Steve Trevor (Jeffrey Donovan) first met, although it becomes quickly apparent this’ll diverge from other tellings of the tale in short order.

In addition to them, get ready to meet various supporting characters and a veritable smorgasbord of villains, including Marie Avgeropoulos (Silver Swan), Kimberly Brooks (Cheetah/Giganta), Michael Dorn (Ferdinand), Ray Chase (Lead Bandit), Mozhan Marno (Dr. Cyber), Adrienne Moore (Etta Candy), Cree Summer (Hippolyta), Courtenay Taylor (Dr. Poison), Nia Vardalos (Julia Kapatelis) and Constance Zimmer (Veronica Cale).

For more info, be sure to check out the official synopsis:

When Amazon princess Diana of Themyscira chooses to save fighter pilot Steve Trevor, it’s a choice that will change her world and ours. Fulfilling the role of both ambassador as well as protector, Diana earns the name Wonder Woman from the gracious people of Earth. But her heart is as strong as her will as she is determined to help a troubled and embittered young girl whom has fallen in with a deadly organization known only as Villainy, Inc! Get ready for an exciting adventure packed with brutal battles, myth and wonder!

At the time of this writing, Warner Bros. have yet to confirm a release date for Wonder Woman: Bloodlines, though Heroic Hollywood reports an October 22nd debut. Stayed tuned, however, because a press release containing such details should be imminent.
