While that addition to Disney Plus certainly is exciting, what we’re most excited about today is the upcoming release of both Ahsoka and Secret Invasion, two shows that will undeniably carry us through both chapters of summer. Marvel’s Secret Invasion debuts in just under two weeks, but a new teaser today reignited our excitement for the series — and it focuses on all things Nick Fury. Ahsoka won’t air until later this year, but there’s a lot to be excited about with both powerhouse additions, and we’ve got you covered with the latest on them.

So grab your favorite Mickey mug, Disney blanket of choice, and popcorn bucket, because we’re diving in!

Ahsoka gets an official Disney Plus release date

So just when will we return to a galaxy far, far away for our next Star Wars adventure? Ahsoka will usher us into the exciting new chapter on August 23. The series is slated to have eight episodes and follow Ahsoka as she investigates a massive threat to the galaxy.

Rosario Dawson takes the role of the titular character alongside other immensely talented actors like Hayden Christensen, Natasha Liu Bordizzo, Lars Mikkelsen, and the late Ray Stevenson. As the teaser trailer shows, the journey we’ll soon be taking is both exciting and fear-inducing. Things aren’t on the up and up when we greet Ahsoka. In fact, it looks like she’s facing a grim reality as she gears up to face something terrible and dark. The synopsis for the series reads as follows:

“Ahsoka Tano (Rosario Dawson) is on the hunt for the evil Grand Admiral Thrawn in the hope it will help her locate the missing Ezra Bridger, the young Jedi that disappeared with Thrawn many years ago. Based on characters from the Star Wars franchise. A spinoff of the TV series The Mandalorian.”

You can catch up on all things Star Wars on Disney Plus now, in the wait for Ahsoka this August. May the force be with you and also your patience.

Samuel L. Jackson steals the show in new Secret Invasion teaser

A new teaser for Marvel’s Secret Invasion highlights a fan favorite within the MCU and the entertainment realm as a whole. Samuel L. Jackson is a powerhouse of an actor, as passionate and dedicated as he is talented — and the snark and power he brings to the Marvel realm as Nick Fury are unmatched.

So fans were immediately invested when Disney Plus tweeted the video highlighting Fury today. “An invasion is here, Rhodey,” he beings, “and we can’t even tell who the invaders are.” The teaser then shows a powerful look at the high stakes involved in the upcoming series, including the prolific shapeshifting Skrulls, who will only make the lives of everyone on Earth more difficult.

How can you take care of the bad guy when you can’t even find out who the bad guy is? What happens when evil looks you in the face, but he seems like someone you’ve grown up with? In a realm where you can’t trust anyone around you — Nick Fury is here to save the day, and as Rhodey tells him he’s going to be the most wanted man on the planet, Fury responds excellently with, “Well, my mama always said I was special.”

Fury certainly is exceptional, and we can’t wait to see what he brings to the table in Secret Invasion. The MCU is better for Jackson’s impact on the realm, and we know for sure that he’ll be a scene-stealer when episodes of Marvel’s newest series begin airing on June 21.

Tom Brady’s Instagram post has us dreaming of summer days at Walt Disney World

Tom Brady going to Disney World might not be “news,” per se, but hear us out. Have you ever been to the Twilight Zone Tower of Terror? The ride is an out-of-body experience, almost literally, and by the end of it, there’s this intense feeling of your stomach being stuck in your throat and your life having flashed before your eyes — but it’s exciting nonetheless.

We’ve never been brave enough to try to record a video of ourselves on the ride, relying only on the video and pictures you get from the Tower of Terror once you get off instead, but Brady and his daughter took the risk. On a recent trip to Walt Disney World, the athlete went on the Tower of Terror because his kids promised him that it was “mad chill.”

Poor innocent Brady couldn’t have known that his children were signing him up for the ride of a lifetime, and the video he shared on Instagram proves just that. His daughter is sitting right next to him as they embrace the ride, and she seems to be having as much fun laughing at her dad as she is enjoying the drops.

In addition to the ride of their lives, they also took part in some lightsaber building, rode on the back of a banshee, and embraced the exciting new addition to Magic Kingdom, the exciting and all-encompassing Tron ride. We love his post so much that we nearly booked our summer trip to Disney World, but the heat is making us keep hovering over that confirmation button instead of clicking it. Hey, we can always live through Brady’s posts for now.
