Arrowverse Crossover Set Videos Tease Chaos In Star City

Filming on the much-anticipated Arrowverse crossover event, titled “Elseworlds,” continues in Vancouver, and it seems the latest scenes to be shot involve Green Arrow’s home town of Star City dissolving into chaos.

As captured by someone who witnessed the shoot, the set videos below show SFX explosions going off everywhere, as extras play the roles of terrified civilians. In the second video, meanwhile, Star City’s finest show up in an attempt to get things under control.

It’s unclear what’s causing the pandemonium, but as the extras seem to be running in all directions, as the explosions are going off all over, we could infer that perhaps the threat’s coming from above. So, maybe it’s an alien foe, or maybe foes plural, that we’re dealing with here? Noticeably, there’s no sign of any of the heroes on site at this point. But don’t worry, citizens of Star City! We’re sure the caped crusaders will be along any minute.

I mean, there are certainly enough of them involved in “Elseworlds.” While the cast of Legends of Tomorrow is sitting this one out, Oliver Queen, Barry Allen and Kara Danvers will find help from various other faces, both familiar and fresh. For starters, Ruby Rose’s Batwoman is making her Arrowverse debut in the event, while Tyler Hoechlin’s Superman is also making a welcome comeback (and he’s even got a new black suit). Plus, we’ve just learned that John Wesley Shipp will don his classic 1990s Flash costume. What could top that?

Well, possibly the unique sight of Stephen Amell and Grant Gustin swapping outfits. Yes, for three nights only, the two Arrowverse leads will switch characters, perhaps due to some sort of rewriting of reality. Somehow that big change will have something to do with the chaos in Star City. But the finer details still remain unclear.

In any case, we’ll find out when “Elseworlds” unites the Arrowverse the week starting December 9th.
