Game Of Thrones’ Sophie Turner Teases Sansa’s Season 7 Arc

Season 6 of HBO's Game of Thrones was certainly an eventful one for Sansa. The eldest Stark girl had never really taken an active role in the machinations of Westeros' most powerful up to that point, and was mostly just used as a pawn to further their agendas. Sansa remained largely unharmed (well, physically anyway) in King's landing, but that all changed when she was married off to the sadistic Ramsay Bolton.

Season 6 of HBO’s Game of Thrones was certainly an eventful one for Sansa. The eldest Stark girl had never really taken an active role in the machinations of Westeros’ most powerful up to that point, and was mostly just used as a pawn to further their agendas. Sansa remained largely unharmed (well, physically anyways) in King’s landing, but that all changed when she was married off to the sadistic Ramsay Bolton.

Things looked bleak, but towards the end of the season Sansa was reunited with her step brother Jon, and after exacting a grisly revenge on Ramsay, she began to do a bit of manipulating of her own.

In a new interview with EW, actress Sophie Turner (X-Men: Apocalypse) spoke about the upcoming season and suggested that this new power may have gone to Sansa’s head a little:

She’s seemingly in control for the first time – and it really suits her. She’s kind of having a bit of a power trip. But she’s also becoming more insecure, because there are threats to the power that she holds. What overall excites me about this season is that main characters are coming together and it feels like things are ramping up. It’s really exciting and all feels like it’s coming to a big conclusion

The person she perceives as a threat could either be the scheming Littlefinger, or the man he was trying to turn her against towards the end of the last season – the new King in the North, Jon Snow.

We’ll find out where Sansa’s loyalties lie for certain when Game of Thrones returns for its penultimate season next year. In the meantime, you can check out the first official images courtesy of HBO’s “Coming Next Year” preview, right here.
