Between the way Supergirl‘s Winter finale ended and the recent news that we’ll be seeing Bizarro at some point next year, the DC Comics adaptation needs to return to TV as soon as possible.

To help tide us over until we can get our next dose of their hit show, CBS has released the first official images from the upcoming ninth episode, and as well as a new look at Sam Lane (the father of Lois), we get to see Supergirl delivering her aunt into custody. How long she’ll stay locked up by the DEO though is hard to say, especially with her vengeful husband on the warpath in National City.

Here’s the synopsis for the episode, courtesy of CBS:

“With Astra in captivity at the DEO, her husband, Non (Chris Vance), captures Hank, leading to a tense standoff between the two sides. Also, Kara continues to refute Cat’s allegations that she is Supergirl, on SUPERGIRL, Monday, Jan. 4 (8:00-9:00 PM) on the CBS Television Network.”

The first season of Supergirl hasn’t been to everyone’s liking so far, but those who enjoy the likes of Arrow and The Flash have definitely found something to love with it. Will this next episode convince the sceptics? It’s hard to say, but fans of Supergirl are definitely going to be in for a treat when it returns to CBS in just a couple of weeks’ time.
