Will Gerry Turner propose at the end of ‘The Golden Bachelor?’ The speculation, explained

If Gerry finds love on 'The Golden Bachelor,' will he pop the question?

In more recent years, proposing at the end of the season has become less and less frequent, with it being more of a choice come finale night. To propose, or not to propose… that is the question.

Filming this past August for about three weeks (as opposed to the seven it takes to record The BachelorThe Bachelorette, and Bachelor In Paradise), the brand new senior-focused edition of the franchise, The Golden Bachelor, gave the lead, Gerry Turner, drastically less time to meet his significant other. Because of this, will he feel confident enough to pop the question at the end of his season?

Will Gerry Turner propose at the end of The Golden Bachelor?

While Reality Steve has been able to confirm who Gerry’s final three women are, it is unclear as to which one steals his heart in the end, as well as whether or not the duo is engaged in the present day. Because of this, determining whether or not Gerry proposes at the end of the season is impossible. However, numerous The Golden Bachelor viewers still shared their theories via Reddit.

@westdale_hunter got the conversation started: “Did Gerry go ring shopping just in case he wants to pop the question? I’m trying to picture Gerry getting down on one knee on the last episode. He might only give her a rose and continue dating until the time is right.”

Because of this interesting question, fans of The Bachelor franchise gave their theories as to whether or not the 71-year-old will propose at the end of the season. While numerous The Golden Bachelor viewers believe he did find love, the majority is confident that there will not be an engagement come finale night…

One fan dished, “I’m thinking he will not propose at the finale. Unless producers want this to have a fairytale ending, where friends and family gather to watch dad/granddad celebrate his newfound love. Back when I regularly watched The Bachelor, there were a few guys who looked absolutely hesitant to sit with Neil Lane and choose from his glittering display of rings. It’ll be interesting if the jeweler makes an appearance this year. Earrings and necklaces are nice too!”

Another shared, “They only filmed for a month. Doubt a proposal is happening. Maybe a promise ring to continue to get to know each other.”

@SirOK73129 took it one step further. Not only does this Reddit user see Gerry refraining from proposing when The Golden Bachelor comes to a close, but they also see Gerry refraining from saying the words “I love you” – how wild is that?

“I picture him saying something like ‘I can’t imagine my future without you in it. Will you continue this journey with me?’ but I don’t see a ring or a proposal or probably not even the word love unless it’s passive like ‘I’m falling in love’ or ‘I can see myself falling in love,’ but not a direct ‘I love you,’ they wrote, garnering a dozen upvotes.

To see how Gerry Turner’s journey concludes, catch new episodes of The Golden Bachelor at 8pm ET/PT (as well as new episodes of Bachelor In Paradise at 9pm ET/PT) every Thursday on ABC — things are starting to heat up!
