The best pink-haired anime characters

Pink is the new black.

Anime is chock-full of fascinating characters with great storylines, mind-blowing fight scenes and amazing designs. While black hair seems to be the most popular hair color in anime, when a pink-haired character appears, you know one of two things are about to happen. They are either extremely cute and sweet or about to wipe the floor with everyone.

Whenever you fall for a pink-haired character — and you will — there’s no going back. You will be stuck watching the anime until your dying breathe. This is only a drop in the bucket, but these are some of the best anime characters with pink hair.

10. Sakura Haruno

Sakura Haruno is part of the core three – Naruto, Sasuke and Sakura – in the Naruto anime. Sakura took a backseat to her male friends, even though she was the most intelligent of the trio and mastered control of her chakra long before the boys.

9. Mei Hatsume

Mei Hatsume from My Hero Academia is smart, beautiful and assertive. She scares grown men, but has no time for nonsense such as romance because nobody could compete for her affections as much as her “super cute babies,” otherwise known as her inventions.

8. Jessie

Team Rocket’s Jessie is possibly one of the greatest characters to ever be created. Beautiful, feisty, funny and just crazy enough to make you root for her despite her technically being one of the villains in the Pokémon anime.

7. Nonon Jakuzure

Don’t let her innocent exterior fool you, Nonon Jakuzure from Kill la Kill is not someone to mess with — unless you don’t care about ever hearing again. Her three-star goku uniform is the Symphony Regalia Grave, which transforms her into a giant heart-shaped long-range acoustic device with massive woofers capable of sending waves of reverberating bass and bladed musical notes.

6. Koby

One Piece’s Koby has one of the greatest character glow-ups in anime history. The character started One Piece as a short, chubby boy who was a bit timid. Throughout the series, he has become one of the greatest heroes in One Piece. Think Harry Potter‘s Neville Longbottom (Matthew Lewis). Koby is now a captain in the Marine special forces unit SWORD.

5. Ram

Ram is one half of the twins in extremely popular anime Re: Zero, who work as maids for Roswaal L. Mathers at Roswaal Mansion. Ram was born with the gift of clairvoyance, which allows her to synchronize with other people’s minds. She also possesses extremely powerful wind magic. Due to being a twin, she and her sister Rem have an ability called synesthesia, which allows them to share their feelings and emotions with one another through telepathy.

4. Saiki-K

Saiki from The Disastrous Life of Saiki-K is one of the most powerful anime characters of all time. He is an extremely powerful psychic who possesses just about any ability one can imagine. He’s an odd-looking character, with bright pink hair, neon green glasses and an antenna-like limiter device on his head to control his abilities, so he doesn’t destroy the world.

3. Natsu Dragneel

Fairy Tail’s Natsu Dragneel is a mage who originally died 400 years ago, but was revived as his brother’s most powerful Etherious — a subspecies of the demon race — and then sent to the future to be among five dragon slayers to defeat the Dragon King Acnologia.

2. Zero Two

Darling in the Franxx’s main heroine is a klaxosapien (ultraterrestrial humanoid alien) hybrid named Zero Two. Zero Two has a goal of becoming fully human, but after falling in love with her partner Hiro, they both sacrifice themselves to safeguard the survival of the human race. A thousand years later, the duo are reincarnated as children and rekindle their romance.

1. Anya Forger

Possibly the cutest little anime character ever is Anya Forger in Spy x Family, a telepath who gets adopted by a spy. She also gets a new mom in the process, who just so happens to be one of the country’s deadliest assassins. They may all be keeping their secrets, but Anya knows everything and uses her cuteness and telepathy to make the series an extremely popular anime, and make Anya one of the most popular breakout anime characters of 2022.
