In the now-approaching six years since sci-fi romp Edge of Tomorrow hit cinemas, we’ve had all manner of sequel rumours and gossip floating around – none of it culminating in a slated release date. Production on Edge of Tomorrow 2 has, so far, been on ice. But the noises are getting more positive.
In a since-deleted tweet, director Scott Derrickson revealed what kind of Star Wars movie he would make if he were ever given the opportunity to do so.
Fan trailers. Like normal trailers, only fan-ner. Fannerer. Any other spelling of that is just going to draw dodgy looks. Yes, if you hadn’t already guessed, we’re looking at a fan trailer today. The question is, for what film? That film would be Bumblebee 2. It hasn’t been released yet – it hasn’t even got a finished script – but that hasn’t stopped some bright spark with too much time on his hands imagining what it’d look like. Finally released from the chains of the Marvel Cinematic Universe, the Russo Brothers now have the creative freedom to make whatever they please (fine, they weren’t exactly in captivity). Yesterday marked what would’ve been actor James Doohan’s 100th birthday. Doohan is best-remembered for his portrayal of Montgomery “Scotty” Scott in the original Star Trek series, starring in 66 of its 79 episodes, as well as 7 Star Trek motion pictures. Though he passed away in 2005, his presence is far from diminished in the minds of all associated with the franchise, and several have been quick to pay tribute to him on this anniversary.
Yesterday marked the third anniversary of Logan’s cinematic release. The film, which saw Hugh Jackman and Patrick Stewart reprise their iconic X-Men roles for the final time, was a major critical and commercial success. Taking its cues from classic westerns and character dramas, as opposed to the bland CGI-corporatism typical of the superhero genre, Logan stood out from the crowd. How then to pay tribute to this worthy highlight of modern filmmaking? Well, the Merc with a Mouth has the answer.

Naturally, that leads to casting speculation, and though Marvel hasn't officially announced anything just yet, we're hearing today that Josh Brolin, who starred as Cable in Deadpool 2, is in talks to return in the third movie (his second appearance in the franchise).
Black Widow is arriving soon. It's less than 2 months away as a matter of fact, so naturally, we’ve got an increasing stream of promotional material making its way to print. You might even be interested in some of it yourself. Either way, if you keep reading, you’re going to get it. Consider this your final warning. Ready? Lovely.
